Lisa Sheldt You don’t need to venture anywhere, hon, just start at home. Look around your house for five small items that are under a pound. Look in the garage or the junk drawer. It doesn’t matter what it is. Then go to the dollar store and get a package of five brown shipping envelopes, a roll of bubble wrap, a roll of shipping tape and a white poster board. Weigh your items at the post office with the envelopes and bubble wrap to make sure they are under a pound with packaging. Under a pound can be shipped first class and costs about $5. Take photos outside in the shade or inside near a window on the poster board and edit them with brightness and cropping. List three items as auctions starting at 99 cents with $5 shipping. Check the sold listings for the other two items and see what they are selling for. List them as buy it now a little less than what they are selling for, one with free shipping and one with $5. There you go, now you started! And you are doing every possible way to sell, so you will gain experience from that. eBay will automatically put “make offer” on your buy it now listings. The hardest part about starting is just starting. You will learn all the rest as you go. This is exactly how I started. I listed a tie, a phone case, and a small Allen wrench set as auctions and two PS4 video games as buy it now. I sold all five within a week.

I'm not making much but I work on continuously improving it. Without having to purchase products in advance there is mostly no risk to trying different things. As long as your smart and not doing something like violating copywrite. Something will eventually work. Mine is IMO mostly price it's not possible to list things for less than my costs...

I'm having pretty good sales so far, under 100 listings. My biggest problem is organization! My garage is a mess and I just don't have much room for everything. So just for ebay I am at just under 2,000 gross sales inside of 3 weeks. I can't do amazon because I can't seem to pass their ridiculous process for setting up a seller account even though all of my documentation is good so I have abandoned that avenue. Their support is a nightmare and I don't think they care at all about sellers. But your information and the tips you share have been invaluable and I thank you for that very, very much!
