Great video as always man! :) Although, I need to point out that it makes fluff sense that Mortarion is a psyker, since even during the heresy series he experiments a lot with sorcery and even resurrection, though he made the excuse that he wasn't becoming what he hated and that he wasn't a pawn of the warp.

Thanks for review. I wanted to know badly stats for extra weapons on PBC and heavy blight launcher. I must say even despite BS4+ , very solid shooting there. Especially drone , it can zip around and hit at insane range - on top of that even if someone engages it in CC, it can just fallback and shoot like nothing happend lol. Because there are not many things that can bust it in one go.

Just wanna point out. Rapid fire 18 inch plague marines with plasma, rerolling ones to hit ;o. Then theres cultists rapid firing on 18 inch too.... outshooting guardsmen at that range basically.

I just had a game versus this guys. Typhus is amazing, pox walkers are amazing, plague drone is great. The psychic powers are good, the flails are great, and the "Disgustingly resilient" is OP.

2000 point list, any feedback? 2 chaos lords (gives the plague marines re roll 1 to hit), plague surgeon (gives them re roll 1 for feel no pain) 6 units of 5 plague marines with 2 blight launchers and a plasma gun on the champion(deployed base to base in a block type of formation to get al the aura effects), 21 plague bearers(tough bubble wrap unit around my plague marines), 2 myphetic blight haulers(gives the plague marines cover for a 2+ save and a multi melta and missile launcher each) and a renegade knight with 2 Gatling guns (fire support) the army is deployed almost base to base to maximise auras and the plague beaters bubble wrap to prevent enemy charging. That's 30 plague marines with 6 plasma guns and 12 blight launchers, re rolling 1s to hit, 2+ save and re rolling 1s for feel no pain

For Foetid Bloat Drone, when it says you can replace BOTH plaguespitters for A heavy blight launcher or A fleshmower, does that mean you trade both Plaguespitters for ONE of the other weapon? Or does it mean each one can be traded separately for one of the others? I'm sure this might be obvious to veterans of the game, but I just got into the game and that is written very ambiguously.

I like the idea of them, I think it is cool how much they love machinery, also they are an acceptable color to me I think it is odd that professional soldiers would paint themselves blue or yellow, you would think they would want any edge they could get and a bright color is kinda the opposite :p

I really like what we have seen so far of DG. Especially the elite character choices like Blightbringer etc. Feels different with so many smaller support characters. Although not holding much hope, would love similar for my legion, 1k Sons.

So no standard terminators or chaos marines with mark of nurgle? Interesting. I get that this is pure death guard but I was hoping that a themed army like the purge might get a fun way mixing some of the new toys in and get the buffs.

MrSeerV The "standard" terminators are the Blightlords. IMO The Purge are devotees to Nurgle, but not held in the same favor as the DG. I hear you on wanting the same buffs though.

David Blumenthal yeah, I see what you mean. In my case it's more about my warband dedicated to tzeentch. I was hoping that like the rumoured ad mech stuff you might have a few buff options that could represent everything from tzeentch worshippers up to thousand sons. Not the end of the world was just hoping for it.

PureH It wasn't my intention to imply that they were literally a copy/paste of vanilla chaos TDA. They are what the standard terminators have become after millennia of the long war, though.

Mortarion was studying the sorcery in secret after joining Horus. He was quoit disgusted by this and had mixed feeling but this was like an addiction to him after some time and he devoted as much time as he could to do it. It is form some Heresy book, I don't remember which one.

On average, 150 lasguns fired from guardsmen will kill about 6 plague marines a turn. If it's 150 conscripts then only about 3-4

Lol at Mortarion's 18 attacks option. That makes him ridiculously mega-killy. Even the lord of the Bloodthirsters only has 10 attacks, and can't re-roll his hits and wounds!

I was so excited for that codex. I was just about to pre order it with mortarion..... then I saw MWG's review. No bikes (I have 32) no normal termies (I have 15) no helldrake (I have 2) no havocs (I have 10) no maulafiend (I have 2) no vindercator etc etc etc. Ugh. I'm just gonna skip all the new releases (including mortarion) and stick with normal CSM. Ugh

T B you can do that but you'll have to keep them in separate detachments if you want legion traits for the regular CSM and inexorable advance for the death guard stuff and you want inexorable advance, rapid firing at 18" alone is worth it

+kane. Game Workshop has a partner programme with 8 or 9 people including myself. They give us pre-release copies so we can share reviews etc with the community. Many other KZbinrs make videos as well, sharing what they have learned so far.
