Me and my friends bought houses in our 20s (we are now in our 40s). As we got older and earned larger salaries, they bought bigger houses and cars. I kept my modest home and I've only bought 2 cars in that time span (Lexus cars are a great value and lasts forever. I still own the two that I purchased and they run great.). My only debt is my home and I am able to travel whenever I want and buy whatever I want. I'm able to save almost half of my take home pay because I continue to live modestly. Keeping up with the Joneses has never been a goal of mine. Because of this I will be able to retire at 55 and collect a pension from my job. Around that same time I will be done paying off my home. So I will have the choice of working when I want or not at all. I am so grateful 🙏🏾

Small savings has really paid off for me. I automatically transfer $250 every month into my savings plus my bank now offers "round up to the nearest dollar / save the change" on card purchases

separating wants vs needs, absolutely critical, plus analyzing your spending. Write down every penny spent and then see where you are spending money and adjust.

Agreed. Also research where you can leverage things about yourself to receive discounts on monthly charges. Every little bit helps.

Some ppl used to say that I was cheap because I don't believe in spending a lot on clothes. Many of those same ppl now shop at some of the discount stores I shop at. They realize they don't want to grow old & have nothing to show for their lives, but some expensive clothes. I try to save on everything! Why throw away money when u don't have to? That way u can save for a nice vacation or give & help the less fortunate!!!

I absolutely love thrifting! The only thing I have to buy outright are pants due needing longer lengths. But, I always buy on sale😉

The modest home is huge. We live outside of the city we work in in a smaller, older bungalow and so many of my peers can't believe I commute in every day. We'll have our house paid off in early 2026 and they're still looking at 20-30 years of mortgage payments.

I am that couple. After witnessing the irresponsible manner is which my spouse handled money and after digging the household from underneath the financial monstrosity she created, I do not trust her with money that is tied to the household. Money is just one of the many issues in this contractual arrangement.

My friend, who lost his wife to cancer told me that before she died, she told him that she had 2 credit cards that had an outstanding balance of $9,000 each. He couldn't believe it.

I have found keeping all of my bank and credit cards locked when i am not using them. It makes me stop and think do i really need to spend this money.

Q: you get paid 10 days before the bill is due.... Do you go ahead and pay it 10 days early?
@BuyLessJess4 ай бұрын
Pay the bill as soon as you get it regardless of when payday is.

I've been investing in Bitcoin by myself. I'm not really happy with what's going on, just few weeks ago I lost about $7,000 in a particular trade. Can you help me out or at least advise me on what to do?
@SidneyBrookmanDavis4 ай бұрын
I will advise you stop trading on your own if you keep losing. And i don't trade on my own anymore, I always required help and assistance
