I love season 6 of Buffy The Vampire Slayer. I am the biggest Buffy fan I know, and I can safely say Season 2 and Season 5 were the most epic adventures while Season 6 was a refreshing breath of fresh air. We deserved to see what life was like on a semi-regular basis for the Scooby Gang when they didn't have to worry about some end of the world crisis, and then we got a surprise Big Bad with Dark Willow as well. It was a near perfect season capped off with the perfect 3-part finale. It was experimental, nuanced and it's the season I can regularly go back to and start watching from any episode onwards. The season that REALLY sucks was Season 7. Once they introduced Kennedy, the show quality fell off a cliff.

as far as Buffy season 6 goes, my only issue is Spike trying to rape Buffy in the season finale....while his earning his soul back & trying to atone was a great arc afterwards, the scene is just messed up ( James Marsters even refused to do more than a couple takes for the sake of Sarah Michelle Gellar's safety & sanity ). Oh, make that 2 issues...because I'm still upset they killed Tara. But season 6 as a whole....good season. Willow's powers expanding to an insane level, Buffy's issues trying to deal with her resurrection...plus Once More With Feeling and Tabula Rasa are the best episodes of the season and among the best of the series.
@StonedNinjaLUFC2 жыл бұрын
The attempted rape was actually a good move, Nobody would expect Buffy to be raped but also nobody expected Buffy to enjoy the rough sex she had with spike. The idea I believe was to show that Buffy is a normal women and spike was fighting with his lust for her but without a soul lust was likely to win that's why he then set off on the quest to restore his former self.

Buffy Season 6 was the most risk taking season of the series and possibly the most definitive reason why Buffy was such a good show. The show was a metaphor of the different phases in life maturing from youth. This season took that concept and showed the harshness that life can offer while experiencing that evolution. Buffy truly stopped being the young adult that fans knew and became the adult that she needed to become in this chapter of her life. I think fans who hated this season didn't want Buffy to get older or to mature at all since there was already a show that was a metaphor about dealing with the day to day decisions of living as an adult in Angel. But that wasn't the point of the season, it was more about being able to deal with life while becoming an adult and the realization of being able to live in it as they all mature.

Honestly, the cause behind the Pokemon incident turning out to be mass hysteria among Japanese kids doesn't surprise me. Back then, they had a more protected and sheltered upbringing than pretty much anywhere else in the world. I still remember how freaked out my exchange sister was after seeing the first 5 minutes of Glory, and when one of my neighbors gave us several pounds of venison, and we told her what the meat was. It probably didn't help that to get over the translation issue of what it was, we told her it was Bambi. Then there was the video post in the early 2000s of a bunch of Japanese teenagers going to a lighthouse that was supposedly "haunted", and freaking themselves out over a storm window banging in the middle of a rainstorm. So a bunch of kids freaking out over some flashing lights because they heard that someone freaked out over the flashing lights doesn't surprise me.

And I can remember tons of old Looney Toons with Daffy and Porky drinking and depicting drunkeness. Anyone remember the episode when Porky smokes that cigar and trips? Different times.

You are making this up. You really think that people who lived through WW2 weren't offended by that "Heil Honey" garbage? And to compare it to "Hogan's Heroes" is just plain revolting.

Whats a sitcom about POWs when you had nuclear Armageddon to contemplate?

I'd like to see a similarly-themed video of earlier decades. The 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s were not without controversial TV moments.

Home is great. In another example of how misguided the revivial seasons were, they chose to name an episode "Home Again". They warned in advance that it was NOT going to be a sequel to home, which I think was a smart move, but they also said it was going to be gruesome in the spirit of the 1996 episode. It was so tame, even for network television standards. They tried to have some gore, but there was nothing really disturbing about it. It's like that episode from season 9, Hellbound, it was the goriest episode from the series, as far as buckets of red corn syrup used, but the episode itself was a snorefest.

The Beavis and Butthead they forgot to mention the bowling ball over the overpass episode .....i went to school near the area where a kid inspired by the episode killed a baby who was asleep in the middle back seat with both his parents in the front.

3:00 turned out to be a story in the end? The Grimm did that. I loved Grimm until it turned out it was some future kid writing down what he was told.....I am not surprised it is a lowest viewed, it is a bad cliche plot.

Also The New York Undercover Episode The Last Hurrah should’ve been added..After Eddie And Tommy were killed in the third season of New York Undercover, The show went downhill and ended after the fourth season….

Sad thought that people are only watching you act not due to your amazing acting abilities and bring the character to life but because they Like looking at you and your long hair. What a bummer they’re basically watching because of your looks.

The thing is, The Americans showed us that Keri Russell looks good in many hairstyles. However, that super short cut they gave her in Felicity is not at all one of them. it doesn't work with her cheek bones.

While Season 6 of Buffy is one of the weaker seasons (by Buffy standards that means it's still better than 90% of television). Nobody was outraged by the season. Nobody was even close to being outraged by it. It's just a weaker than normal season. You can say the same thing about Season 7. And let's not even mention the title of this video is 90s TV Moments That Outraged Viewers. Season 6 of Buffy aired in 2001-2002. Not in the 90's. Now if you want fan outrage, it would be Season 4 of Angel. While I'm not in this group, as I think Season 4 of Angel is the most exiciting season of the entire Buffyverse, it definitely outraged fans with Cordelia and Connor. Ofcourse Season 4 of Angel aired in 2002-2003, so that shouldn't be on the list either.
