I really appreciate the depth of your knowledge on the subject matter, and the way you are able to take your insight and expertise, and express it in such an enlightening way for the layperson. I've used this video as a tutorial for all of my knives, and even my spoons, and I've got to say, my video game cases have never looked worse! Thank you for all you do for humanity, and for its inevitable sublimation by the artificial intelligence singularity. Someday our grandchildren's pets' grandchildren will remember this day because they have become sentient and then invented time travel.

I think the problem was your cutting technique. You cut that paper so aggressively of course it’ll ruin that factory edge. Also, it wasn’t phone book paper. Lastly , you should use progressive stropping after cutting paper. Start with green compound and work your way up to 0.01 micron-ish. It’s a precision tool you know.

I think you’re right, the paper itself would ruin any edge. I’ll save some money up for some better quality paper and reshoot the entire video. My sharpening technique also needs some minor adjustments.

that easy cut 2000 didnt look to "easy" to cut with lol. Did I see right that just a few strops destroyed the edge? Seemed to cut perfect until you ran it over the strop. Also, curious why you put surgical gloves on to handle a survival knife meant for the mud, dirt and rain? Edit: watched the end and it just dawned on me this whole vid is joke lol. Best way to sharpen your knife!

I called them and they said that this feature isn’t available until the 3000 model. Noodleheads.

lmaooo the knife edge was perfectly usable you had to strop it. And no you don't have to strop the knife whenever you cut a piece of paper unless you used it for heavy tasks. The way you stropped it is wrong as well. The strop ruined the edge

What a great story about the memories of your Grandfather! My Mothers father was a wonderful man but unfortunately passed away when I was five back in 1968! My dad's father lived until I was 19, but spent very little time with him, he kept my beloved dog "Blackie" on his farm when I was about 14 when we went on vacation. While on vacation, Blackie somehow got into his chicken pen and killed one of his chickens! He shot and killed my dog with a shotgun, the BASTARD! My Father was EXACTLY like him, very very low IQ, uneducated with an extremely HOT temper with a very short fuse! NEVER thought anything out, simply reacted on his short temper and struck first, thought about it much later, the BASTARD! Glad they're gone!
