"It's like that old joke that dad- likes to tell." That delivery was so on point. The adjustment mid-sentence, but without letting the tone falter, still being a good liar. Still being gentle.

man, that little pause between "that old joke that dad" and "likes to tell" broke me. the way this is shot and edited really does a great job at capturing the deep existential dread of the present day with Funny KZbin Video. great stuff as always

In 2012 I called me today around midnight and I was similarly unnerved by the vague uncertain ennui answers, just as you must have been in 2019, so I'm going to just not answer the phone when I call, that way I can prove the future is slightly changeable - if my memories of the call don't just evaporate... in which case we might just go to another reality so...fingers crossed 11 hours from now everyone.

Dude, the camera work in this simple little video, was next level. To me, it looked like there was a bunch of dolly shots. But I guess it could've been digital zooms, added in post. Felt pretty real though. Great comedy and story telling too, btw. All-around, I just really enjoyed this. Thank you.

I really felt that cut what I assume is dear ol' dad and their big ol' fish. I lost my parents before the pandemic, and I can't help but ruminate about what they shared as the world is now radically different in so many ways. How I changed in so many radical ways. I'll always remember mom replying when I had those thoughts with, "Find your joy". Thank you for the wonderful video, and I look forward to whatever art you share next

"Of all the years we could've picked" Yeah. Same. I'm still processing it. Wanna hear something crazy? My father told me that same old joke, but in spanish. Feels weird to know that certain jokes are told in different places, in different languajes. Somehow I don't think any of us that we have follow you from the beggining, church of blow and whatever..., would have think you were ripping out Nolke's series, or at least, would have cared. Anyways, glad you're back. And sorry for your loss.

I know this video is already a few months old, but man it's weird looking back and thinking about how life was before COVID. In the moment I don't think we really could've grasped how the world changed, but since then it's a whole new reality. Personally, I'd say the internet and smartphones were still sort of a niche till COVID, since then it's like everything has been turned on it's head.

Im 18yo i started writing messages for myself in the last 3yrs😭 It's funny how we react to ourselves. but just knowing there's a future is warm, and knowing we gotta Cherish the present for our older versions is a bless, we might let our younger selves down or maybe make our dreams come true we might lose people or things we thought we could never lose But we'll never lose ourselves, it's kinda really nice to know there's someone who can get you (being you😭) and understand all the troubles you been through Although sometimes it's dark to know there's only you who can understand let's hope for a better future and plan for a better present, and no matter what happens truly no matter what happens, to live as long we can.
