@@ahmedbassiouny8456Yeah, I agree. Glad that I'm not the only guy who loves "Live Free Or Die Hard"(Die Hard 4), because i never understood why people hated it. I've seen the first 4 Die Hard movies, and I thought they were all instantly classic movies. Sure, Die Hard 2 wasn't as good as the first one, but they only had the first one to build off of at the time, so they didn't exactly know what to do with John McClane next. But I enjoyed all 4 Die Hard movies, anyway. They're all great, but then Die Hard 5 comes out and...it's just there. 6 years after Live Free Or Die Hard, we get THIS? This is like Die Hard with no effort and no memorable villain or memorable moments in it! Just...nothing! I don't even remember that McClane HAD a son. Until I saw the first movie, and remembered that he's going to see his family, and that Die Hard is about a cop going to see his family on Christmas, his son and daughter. And they're there, as kids. And Live Free or Die Hard was about Lucy, and her growing up, and more about tech criminals, something McClane knows next to NOTHING about, but he does know how to shoot, and what to do as a good cop. But the grown version of his son is just uninteresting. He looks like grown up John Connor from Terminator. And I've never even seen Terminator. Any of them. But geez, why is McClane's son so whiny in this? Because his daddy never hugged him or bought him a toy? Save the whiny talk for when there AREN'T people shooting at you, dude! Like I get that it's an action movie, but still, is this really the best time to be bringing up things like that? And also, I thought he DID hug his son and give him a teddy bear at the end or during the first or second movies? What in the hell is he talking about? (not Jeremy, I meant Jack or whatever his name is).
@MrChaotic47 ай бұрын
@@shawnfields2369 Say what you want about Die Hard 2 or Live Free or Die Hard. At least those movies felt like Die Hard movies. A Good Day to Die Hard just feels like some random generic action movie that someone slapped the Die Hard name onto for the sake of making a quick buck.
@shawnfields23697 ай бұрын
@@MrChaotic4 Yeah, I agree. Die Hard-ish, or "a good day to die", just looks generic. Glad I never heard of or saw it until people like Jeremy and Chris reviewed it. Because I would've been seriously disappointed that this is the last Die Hard movie we're probably ever gonna get. But maybe it's better to just stop here with the 5th one, instead of constantly trying to resurrect it hoping to redeem it because of how awful this one is. Because I mean, look at Indiana Jones 5. People are saying that's now the worst one, and everyone's saying they'd rather see the 4th one now. Should've stopped making Die Hard movies after Live Free or Die Hard, back in 2007. Let that one be the final one. But I wouldn't mind a final final Die Hard movie that's ACTUALLY a Die Hard movie and not just Die Hard-ish, that redeemed all the crap this one gave us. And while I don't mind saying what I want about Die Hard 2 and Live Free or Die Hard, but I love the first 4 Die Hard movies. It's just this 5th one that I haven't seen because it's a boring, generic action movie, that stars Bruce Willis and that one guy from Terminator Salvation. And ruins ALL of the goodwill that literally EVERY single other Die Hard movie gave us. Such a crappy way for Die Hard to go out on, but maybe it's better to give it the Old Yeller treatment, and take it out back and shoot it ourselves. Rather than have a classic icon be ruined by another entry. Look at Indiana Jones. The last 2 movies, (Kingdom of The Crystal Skull, and the recent Dial Of Destiny), have tarnished Indy's good name so badly, it wouldve been better to just stop before we end up somehow ruining the good name of the poor guy any more. Because I don't know if they can even fix either Die Hard or Indiana Jones at this point. Better to just let them ride off into the sunset, and pretend these awful movies don't and never have existed.

I talked about this in his other Die Hard review. This franchise can be good again if they do two things. 1.) Make Benedict Cumberbatch the son of Hans Grubber out for vengeance for his father and uncle. 2.) He kills McClane but not before McClane gets one last Grubber kill. The last Grubber is dead, McClane is dead and so is the franchise. Just end it already. From a person who loves all the Die Hard movies for one reason or another just end it.

Sora 9567 ya without all the violence and swearing it becomes into something thats much more innocent and meant for younger audiences, the uncut rated r version is exactly whats needed.
@rhodriwilliams25998 жыл бұрын
Really, it wasn't an R-rating these movies needed, it was the fun, trash-taking, high stakes, not overly off the top, fun villain we had in 1 & 3. 2 was good also, better than 4 & 5 despite an ok villain, still had the fun, trash taking, high stakes, not overly over the top, fun. (Did that make any sense? fuck it.)
@harmie17438 жыл бұрын
Rhodri Williams if they rated them PG-13, well there would be none of the blood and swearing of course. And i also feel like it would change the nature of the film, seeming more friendly then rated r.
@rhodriwilliams25998 жыл бұрын
What I mean is: don't make an R-rated movie so that you can have cussing and violence, but have cussing and violence without thinking of the rating. Movies try to avoid swearing because they want a specific rating, but if they made a movie the way they wanted to without acknowledging the rating, I think we'll have better times at the cinema.

@shawnfields23697 ай бұрын
Me too. Thought I was taking crazy pills or something, because everyone else seems to crap on it for some reason. The other 4 Die Hard movies are all worth watching, but for some reason, this 5th one just lacks the charm the other ones had, but especially the 4th one. With Lucy and Justin Long's character, it was about tech criminals, and tries to show a different side of crime, something John McClane knows little about, so that's why his daughter and Justin Long (forgot his character's name, sorry), were there. His character inadvertently helps the criminals, and is forced to help them, and they capture McClane's daughter, and has to get this tech guy to help him rescue her. I don't get how it doesn't "feel" like other Die Hard movies. The other 4 Die Hard movies were always great to me, and after seeing 4, I went back and saw the other ones, and yeah, while 4 isn't AS good as the other 3, it's STILL a good movie, worth your time. And that's because each Die Hard movie had to live up to the last one, and try to top that one, and I honestly think that With A Vengeance is the best one, mainly because of the chemistry and buddy cop dynamic between Al and John. Also, I really liked "Family Matters", and seeing the guy who plays a cop on that show(Reginald Valjohnson), playing a cop in a movie, really worked well. And also, McClane is a cop himself. But I do wish Al had shown up in more than one movie. He definitely deserved to. But Die Hard-ish(as Jeremy calls it), is just lacking things, that the previous 4 Die Hard movies gave us. Even the 2nd one, which was arguably the least good of the Die Hard movies until Die Hard-ish came out...and now, because Bruce Willis has dementia, we can't ever get a 6th Die Hard to redeem this one. We'll now just be getting a crappy TV series about it, that'll inevitably ruin it even more. Let's just forget this 5th one, and remember the other Die Hard movies exist, and go back and enjoy those instead.

This might just be my favorite Die Hard movie, or even my favorite Bruce Willis movie, period! The action was so-so, but the story really blew me away, the whole father-on thing, how that developed, while the tense plot around the Russian bad guys moved the story on, brilliant stuff. Willis is at the top of his game here, hitting all the right emotional chords at the right moments. I laughed, I cried, I bit my nails and shouted at the screen. Oh and I love Jeremy's point on why there should never be a friends reunion (although I do want to see that secretly) this further backs up my point to girls that the ending of the notebook is horrible. they fall in love, all that jazz, then fast forward to when they're 80 or something, the woman goes crazy, they hold hands and die. WHAT, I don't want to see that. No one wants to see what happens after happily ever after, because life sucks, and that's why stories end when they do.

I love how this is only review that doesn't have "movie review" on the title.

Here's my idea for Die Hard 6 off the top of my head...they could have John retired and bored shitless, the film starts out with him waiting for a train in the New York subway as its Christmas time (see what I did there :D) and he's heading to his daughters house to spend Christmas with her family and patch things up with his family. Whilst waiting for the train he notices a suspicious looking guy and the detective comes out in him, he profiles the guy correctly and tails him abd eventually sto

I know this video is old as hell, but I just had to say something. I own the 5-movie DIe Hard BluRay collection. But to be honest, I consider 1-3 to be Die Hard movies. I might throw one of the other 2 in if I'm doing some work on my laptop and I just need some background noise. I'll probably see DIe Hard: Day 1 when it comes out, but I'm pretty sure that one is going to suck too.

Yeah, I knew this movie was gonna be shit the moment I saw "Directed by John Moore". The first thought that came into my head when I saw that was: "Ah, shit. This is going to be shit!"

The only thing I liked about this movie was the actor Jai Courtney (Jack McClane), but that's just because he played "Varro" in "Spartacus: Blood and Sand", which happens to be my favorite TV-series of all time...
