A HUGE Plot Hole in Stranger Things Season 4!

When Nancy and the crew go to the upside down in season 4 they find out that upside down is frozen in time, exactly on the day Will went missing. But I’m season 1 when Joyce and Hopper go to the Upside down to rescue Will the Byers house in the Upside down has traps and stuff that Nancy and Jonathan used to fight the demogorgon which happened at least a week after Will went missing.

Yeah, theres many examples. Theres only two explanations I can give. One of them is that Vecna designed the upside down in his own mind and that he took away the guns in Nancy’s room. The other is that the portals that Vecna created were different portals. Other than that, it’s a huge plothole.

A plot hole that has not been covered yet is that the original way a portal was opened was by 11 touching a demigorgan but in season 4 she created it by destroying 1

THIS! THANK YOU! Hubby and I figured out the twist pretty early on, and this was the only thing keeping me from committing to the theory. I was starting to think I missed something in season 1 because it seems like nobody is talking about this.

That was the second portal but what im more confused about is that the portal in season 1 is in a different location than the rainbow room and its supposed to be on the same day, i dont feel like they would be able to construct a whole new room around the portal.

@@outcastolive2763 it's a different portal. The one 11 opened in the rainbow room by kicking One's ass is not the same as the portal opened when she touched the demogorgon. The portal from season one was opened in the room with the huge water tank. They'll probably explain how the first gate was closed by the end of this season

spoiler. befor they were struggling to fight like 4-5 bats with more than 1 person. now eddie can stand in the eye of a bat nado and they attack him one by one taking their time. what happened to the intelligence of the bats? with just 2 befor they were wrapping limbs/necks and dragging people to the ground while the other one attacked.

I noticed this 'time plot hole' as well. Remember when the scene transition to the upside-down version of Howkins Middle School on the day of the snow ball and upside-down version had the snow ball decoration lights in it as well? That shouldn't have happened if the time was frozen!

How did Justin, Nancy, Steve and Robin get out of the upside down if the gates were ruined by the rifts created by Max's temporary death and ruined the gates they entered through? They were still in the upside down when the earthquake hit and the cracks opened up immediately. They didn't have time to run back to any of the gates.

I mean, they could’ve used the gates created by Max’s death since they were right there, but it’s unknown really. A lot of questions that I expect to be answered next season, especially with Will’s connection. I have a feeling Will’s connection to the upside down and Vecna could be linked in a similar way that Harry Potter and Voldemort are linked.

They kinda explain how the light worked in this season as Dustin had the light bright and sets it on the bed but the teens in the upside down can't see it but they know it's there cause they can here him there. Will could have done the same with joyce. Tho would have been difficult. Will could be the person who froze time in the upside down. Everyone forgets he had the power of the flayer and that will sees himself as a power all knowing mage. He is also the original DM of the group. But I also believe The upsidedown is created of emotions trapped in time by depression and vecna created entire worlds out of it. Which is why he has a place with his house. To me the biggest plot hole was vecna needs 4 kills to open the gate. Cause if that was true the demo bats killed Eddie making a total of 5 victims unless max is alive and never died Also opening the portal killed more than 5 people. Also Max's eyes popping then the directors saying she's alive 😂

I think Vecna needed to be responsible for the kills, but maybe that’s not the case and Eddie was indeed the 4th kill and Max isn’t completely dead.

Yeah, I'm waiting for the end of the season to see if they resolve some of these inconsistencies, but it does seem like a lot of things about how the upside down worked in season 1 don't quite line up with Vecna and the gates. I've been rewatching the earlier seasons after finishing the current stuff, and it seems like in S1 especially the Demogorgon just kinda breaks through where it wants with no need for a gate (like the walls in Joyce's house and the middle school). Still has been an incredible season and still a great show; it would just be a cherry on top if the finale managed to resolve the questions I have.

You could argue that that, and only that, demigoron got touched by Elven when she was remoting viewing. Hence it got the ability to connect to Hawkings.

Great video. One of the larger plot holes i have not really seen talked about is the fact that all of the children who had powers had the same powers as eleven, except for 8. Also there is minor stuff with the timeline , it was explained that these kids received their powers from parents who partook in mk ultra mid control experiments but 1 seems to be significantly older then the rest and yet still has powers.

Creel had the same powers as 8 since he could make his parents see things that weren’t real. I think the reason Dr Breener didn’t create more subjects like that, was because he was afraid more would escape.
