I used to think that about Jason, but he treated me terribly in his own comment section. I tried to raise some points about ethics, and instead of having a rational discussion with me, he joined in with others I was disagreeing with in a very egotistical and mean spirited way. It sucked, because I really enjoyed his content before that. The thing is if you push someone on their philosophy and expose any amount of hypocrisy, you'll see who they really are

They ignore what happens to other people and refuse to acknowledge that their great leader actually doesn't treat people so nicely when you say the wrong thing to them. We're talking about a guy on the internet. It's a parasocial relationship. If someone is going to treat a long time listener that way, they come off as a fraud, at least when they reach these kinds of things

@@MattAngiono I’ve seen similar behaviour from Jason, where he deleted any comments that expressed even mild disagreement with his political views. In his video “Taoism destroys woke ideology”, Jason injects his personal politics into Taoism. This could be done thoughtfully, but Jason’s poliitics rely so much on Us vs. Them dualistic ways at looking at the world that you would find a lot in today’s mindless culture war discourses. Some simply suggested a way at looking at the world outside of today’s brand of tribalism, but even those comments were deleted. This was funny, because he often speaks out against how people with differing views are too often censored nowadays.

I have done the MBSR course and continue to try my hardest to follow these principles, but it’s so freaking difficult! I feel like evolutionarily we just aren’t wired this way. When I see what is happening with trump and his cult members, I just want to beat some sense into them. Any zen flies right out the window!
@harrygreen32776 ай бұрын
MBSR? Trump and his cult followers? What are you speaking about? It is frustrating when people get so triggered by Trump and yet say they are spiritual. I would be disappointed of George was anti-Trump, because that means he has a side. Why do you hate Trump so much? He didn't go to war, Biden did, and most his stats as a president were better than anyone in recent history. You don't have to like his character but he does get the work done. I just find it odd that you say you are spiritual, yet what do you think about Obama dropping the most bombs in in one year in his last year of office. That is a fact. I'm guessing you like war and death but don't like someone writing mean tweets.

I used to follow Jason Gregory's channel but I got put off when he had a prolonged argument with someone in the comments who tried to politely correct his pronunciation of a Sanskrit/Hindi word that Jason mispronounced throughout the video. Jason was both incorrect and stubborn and kinda rude and condescending to the guy. From his comments, I got the strong impression that he doesn't practice what he preaches and so I unsubscribed.
@spiritworld66554 ай бұрын
You would be wrong on your assessment. I just finished a Daoism course with him and he is very genuine and goes 1 hour over course limit to give people ultimate clarity and value. His course was amazing actually. Anyway, people are going to hate in an overly sensitive world because they need to project their problems elsewhere. I grew up in a tough environment and don't resonate with that weak attitude.
@frgartner84464 ай бұрын
@@spiritworld6655 But the whole point of many of the criticisms found here is that Jason is the overly sensitive one. A few of us here have pointed out how he can’t handle very VERY mild criticism. If you are to point out weakness and oversensitivity, it’s Jason who should be the one to focus on. Seems like you can’t handle anyone disagreeing with Jason or yourself and the only way to cope with that is for you to posture as the strong one and anyone who disagrees with your beliefs is the weak one. Please practice self-reflection.

@@frgartner8446 he is too real for you. That is all and something for you to deal with. You still think new age is spirituality. Jason sticks by the tradition and has zero time for sensitive new age people commenting on youtube. Just think clearly, if you are the one mad on youtube commenting behind a screen, who do you think is the sensitive one? Also why do you overestimate your opinion of someone and why do you think they should take a complete strangers criticisms serious? You sound like a person trained on social media.

@@spiritworld6655 Why do you keep thinking that being critical of Jason is us being mad at him. Only a small child would think that way. A person politely mentions that Jason mispronounced a word, and Jason pushes back in a condescending way, and you think he is not being over sensitive?? I doubt anyone who corrected Jason and got harsh push-back are truly angry at him. Just critical of him. And somehow being critical makes us “new age people”, and him taking offence at a polite mention of a mispronunciation makes him “too real” for us? Hahahaha. It’s fine that you’re defending him, but you need to stop creating narratives out of thin air.
