They don’t have the erratic movement or disgusting waste of crickets moths flies and roaches, and they don’t have the danger of spiders scorpions bees and wasps. They also don’t come in the numbers or cause the damage of ants. They’re just small blobby cows with cute eyestalks, mushy suction mouths for sucking up tiny microorganisms, and slimy stomachs that they use to slowly slither around. Actually tbh I personally am more nervous around ladybugs than slugs (I know I shouldn’t be but I just can’t help it) because of their kind of erratic movement, smaller size, which makes them hard to track, and ability to fly and land on any part of me. Caterpillars are in a similar harmless cute vein as slugs tho, and mantises rarely fly, especially towards you, which combined with their size, harmlessness, and general badassery makes them fine in my book too.
