Im 75 years old and i love yard work. I just received my mini chain saw in the mail yesterday because you love yours. I volunteered to clean up a huge overgrown bed of weeds in my neighbors front yard. Theyre young, but the husband works 2 jobs, and they have 3 kids. I chopped stuff down, raked, and fixed a stone stairway. Theres lots more to do, but i have the time and you really inspired me to help.

There's a company in UK, Flawless Cleaning, that take on free jobs like this, specifically older, disabled people who, for whatever reason, are unable to maintain their gardens and property. They have moved on to big, multi visit projects, forging relationships with the clients. Their current one has had five visits/videos, not only clearing a huge garden that was completely overgrown, mending a roof, replacing a rotten deck and window. The latest part is raising a Gofundme to replace a broken down, unsafe conservatory with a bedroom/wetroom for the bed-bound wife, so that they can spend more time together and she can see outside.

I’ve seen plenty of other lawn care videos and they do always clean it up, take it away or put the good soil in the flower beds. They all do an excellent job.

They must do it off camera then because I'm sorry to say that the ones I've watched do not. I realize the soil will eventually go back into the ground but it looks unkept by leaving it on the grass. A few pick it up but a few don't unless as I said they do it after off camera. @@JMarieCAlove

​@@JMarieCAlove the ones who do throw the dirt and clippings on the lawn usually believe in mulching with it. Some say that the rain will take care of it. Others mow all clippings back into the lawn. One mower says that's how they do it in his state. With abandoned lots that is reasonable. So many of our reactions are based on local customs.

Amazing transformation and great for the neighbourhood. I am so glad you put the boat back on the property though. This house and boat must belong to someone, whether they are elderly and in a home, moved away, in prison, or are just long lost relatives waiting to be ‘found’, so it is not yours to dispose of and you could get into trouble. I would have left the ornaments too, just put them away in the garage. Better to be safe than sorry.

who would buy that and not buldoze immediately? it's an americans stick house, there's no structure to save. it's just rotten wood. not to mention it looks like one of those elderly neighborhoods that is dyeing. I doubt anybody will want that space, but at least it's not harboring as many tics and rats that could get the neighbors sick.

If you aren’t already wearing one, please consider wearing a back support. All that bending will catch up with you, especially as you get older (I speak from experience). really? you wanted that old man to help? he just said he can't do it anymore. what do you think the ages of the other neighbors are? not to mention all those american lawns are depressing, nobody there has any idea how to take care of a garden. if this was east europe the boat would have been long gone, and depending if it was a trashy neighborhood or not others would have done something about it before it got this way. we have very tall fences here that block view and teens often burn old buildings for fun, then the mayorship buldozes everything.

Quick Cuts does this too. Repairs fences, steps and sagging gates. He'll pick up all the trash and he takes it away. So incredibly satisfying! I've stopped watching a lot of the other lawn care channels because of their sloppy habits.

One thing I saw you miss ... was, while working along the driveway and cleaning up trash there was one of those downspout extensions that was thrown away - probably should have kept it for that downspout at back of the house ... 😊 I am not being critical!
