Well, I'm glad he's still in the faith. Being a minister doesn't make you immune to needing the Lord on a personal level. The essence of our faith is to reach the lost, and sometimes, the lost is active in church. May Pastor Carl grow in intimacy with God because, as a child of God, he's enough, with or without title. May this resonate with every believer!

Very easy to turn to God with your brokenness, or addiction issue's. Hes always there to help. Maybe he's not owning his choices because, he made knowing it was sin, and not wanting to admit that. @@chaoticgood.. There is no objective reference to which we might point to determine when one human's so-called "normal" personality proceeds into narcissism. Every human naturally references himself, his own perceptions and feelings, as the final arbiter of reality. To relate to others, we naturally reference ourselves and then impose our sensibilities upon others, this, by blind faith that others are somehow like us. We are naturally selfish. And should we find ourselves in poor circumstances, we are naturally selfish to the most wicked and unnatural degree. Everything is about us, even when we make sacrifices for others. This is our natural state. We are all narcissists. Indeed, I find that those who leap to condemn others as narcissists, tend to be incorrigibly self-focused.

That part. He's not an addict. He's just a communal narcissist. He is more interested with the notion to be seen as a good person rather than actually living his life as a good person. When he can't do that, then the deep work still is missing. He is still being enabled by the media. ABC must really be in need of content. Nothing to profile here. He doesn't need ABC news or the media to affirm his salvation. If he's a changed man then that should be enough for him. Why the broadcast? Why does he need more attention and for everyone to cheer? Not too shocking. Personalities are usally elected to high places ,not qualified people. As a young millennial working in corporate who would consider him extremely knowledgeable in theology and most biblical doctrine and church history. I see in both church and not that people doing the talking don't have much to say usally and they are not the strongest people among them. But unfortunately most people hearing are not really listening and so the most charismatic person is picked rather than the most qualified which is this not what the prophet said lest they hear with their ears and see with their eyes and come to me and be healed . But ofcourse we are like our ancestors although we are too stubborn to admit it because we call ourselves " Christian " as if that mean anything; we want a king and a prophet to go and hear for us because we haven't the dedication to to it ourselves. So God gave moses as mediator as it says and then the people wanted to see a leader ,so God gave Sual to show isreal thar it's dumb to want an imperfect man to lead u over God and warned ahead of time what he would do but God gave anyway. This is most people in church and as Solomon. (The people rejoice when there is a righous leader and the people morn when there is a wicked one). Put this is the fault of all believers. Man has ego ,so then why do we push them into high places to represent so many of us ? We block him from the humility that God uses to speak to us though. Ofcourse Carel had to be that way ,he had an image to keep up how could he be judged by a non pastor or admit fault to a no body? This is why we gotta stop this people worship and hierarchical stuff. It's setting all of us u0 to fail

I don't think the clip is clear about what's going on here. Carl and his wife have launched a new podcast. There are two episodes out on the B-Side channel. It gives context to what their intent is and why they are talking now. For example, he publicly states he has no intention of preaching the way he did before. Whatever you think of them, it is an interesting insight into how they dealt with it as a family.

His wife is going to stay with him until that last child leaves home and then she is going to leave that marriage! The fact that she has to ask him whether a certain subjects is safe to talk about means she's not ready to take her power back and stand on her own two feet. I don't think she even cares if he cheats again, she's literally holding on trying to keep it all together until the day all of her kids are gone.

Some comments about Carl and we don't know his heart. Sure, but Carl is going to great lengths to tell you his heart by doing this interview, many podcasts, etc. Yes he's still growing and having trouble owning all of this, I agree, his image is still really important to him, yes .. But how do his real friends support his growth right now and in the next season? Is it best for him to be back into the spotlight? God is never done healing us, and I'm sure his plan for Carl is FIRST to heal his heart. Identity doesn't come from being important. God can only and truly fill us -- but we have to be able to lay it ALL down. I hope he continues on his journey pursuing after a connection with God.

The church supports abuse 😂. The real issue here. A women who stays with a cheating man is dumb. Sorry but not sorry. Forgiveness doesn't mean stay in the picture. Humans are not God we don't have that kind of grace nor are we even called to . God is already faithful, a cheater doesn't need to tire a woman around by following him in whatever he does. It says nothing against the faith of a woman nor her ability to forgive if she leaves. Unlike God, she has only so many days and so much energy to spend .

Let this be a caution to us all. Don't run and call your sin "a flaw". Don't blame your actions on "brokenness". Run to God with repentance immediately. When a man is given power, fame and money, they don’t know how to handle it. I am not generalizing. But, self control and setting boundaries are difficult to have. It’s a sad reality that most men/women have to deal with. Even if one is religious, it still happens. Infidelity in all forms is like a disease that can be contagious and difficult to treat or prevent….The betrayed spouse ultimately carries the burden of trauma and pain..😢 Been there, done that 😢
