I'm much older than Fernanda and I think she's so brilliant and wise for her age and mature. I'm from Brazil and I'm studying English by my own at home.. I combined usefulness with enjoyment with this podcast and I love that so much... 16:53 - 17:16 I love this tip about complimenting others and not keeping compliments to ourselves! I've gotten in a bad habit about noticing something and either (a) forgetting it or (b) not having the confidence and courage to go "Hey, this is cool!" incase I weird the other person out. The other day, I invited one of my close friends to my zumba class and she complimented my teacher's facial expressions. I absolutely love that she did that! It meant so much to my teacher that she asks every class where my friend is 😂😊💜 I love it! The power of genuine compliments!

6:39 Being inspired by people's successes and gifts instead of spewing negativity was one of my biggest takeaways this past year ❤ Someone's success doesn't eliminate you from the game... in fact, it means that someone's done it before and that it's possible! Whether it's lifestyle comparison (I grew up in a single parent household) to figuring things out with KZbin (I don't have much social media experience), I'm working on keeping a positive "I can" attitude 😊

Thank you Fernanda for this video! Perfect timing! I find myself comparing against influencers! But I changed my mindset to say “I am THAT girl, I AM a KZbinr, I am the influencer that others look up to” and now I’m watch other influencers and LEARN from them instead of “protecting my peace” and unfollowing them bc it’s was my own envy/insecurities that was sabotaging my success. I once heard somebody say, act how the ideal you 2 years from now would act, today, in real time; that really struck me. Comparing yourself to others is kind of useless because the way I see it is: we don't know what that person is dealing with behind the scenes. They may be really struggling and unhappy even if they look like they have everything going for themselves. On the flip side, you may already have something that they're desiring and don't have. When you realize that we're on all the same level, regardless of status, money, race, whatever, you will see how silly it is to idolize others. Perception and mindset is really everything. She would be there for a week or two at a time, and really wanted to move there. When she did end up moving there, she realized that living somewhere is not the same as vacationing somewhere. 😊 I think that's why we all love vacations haha

Love, LOVE all of Ferns videos!! I want to include, if feelings of envy come up for you, rather than feeing envious, swap that out for inspiration. If someone is doing something/has something/etc that you feel like you want or that you admire, be inspired to reach those things. I love seeing people that are doing things I think is so dope. It inspires me to go harder and strive for those things. It could be easier said than done, buuuuut, that’s where Fernandas advice on self love comes into play. Pour into yourself, love yourself, find the love and confidence within you, and work towards your goals. Anytime I have compared myself to other people, I have felt less than. Until I realized that the only person I should compare myself to, is the person I was yesterday. No matter what you compare, you will always find someone richer, better looking than you, has a nicer car, has a better (fill in the blanks). And it's totally pointless. When I began focusing on the idea of going to bed better than I woke up, basically making sure that throughout day I do things that make a better version than the one who woke up that morning, then life really began to change for me. Focus on you and your own progress. Run your own marathon! 🏃‍♂🏃🏃‍♀
