100% a New Chapter of Linkin Park. The new album is a double entendre “From Zero” meaning starting over and also their original band name was Xero.

@@AnthonyRay i like her she is a worthy successor to chester as everyone has said its impossible to replace him as part of what he did was clearly he had alot of mental health issues and that was refected in his performances. i hope i got this right but as a lead i felt she has a similar stage presence that is not tied to a specfic individual but having that vibe both the members of the band and the fans can feel and it works here.

For the HARDCORE fans...LP was originally known as Xero (Pronounced "Zero") so the new album has a double entendre in it. They're literally going back to the beginning. I really like it. Some people say "recyclation, no invetion", other "she cannot replace Chester"... Emily is not suppose to replace Chester, it's impossible, because every human is unique. She is the new member of new chapter of LP. Also, you shouldn't expect that comeback discography after 7 years of Nu Metal group would bring some wow inovation, or even new genre. It's a fresh start and I am excited to new LP's songs.

I actually disagree with that. She did "fine" with most of them. She completely missed the mark on The Catalyst. She lost her voice from pushing her voice too much. IMO the issue is that she was using harsh vocals too much instead of balancing it with clean vocals. (Something Chester mastered) With that said she sounded great with the first few performances as well as the studio version of Emptiness Machine. I'm excited to hear her on tracks written specifically for her and Mike. As for the controversy, I couldn't care less.
@DrClownPhD
@DrClownPhD 10 күн бұрын
She absolutely did not kill the LP songs. She's a good vocalist but she was trying so hard to mimic the studio version of the songs which isn't really humanely possible (even Chester sung cleanly for a lot of the older songs that heavily relied on distortion and vocal layering). I won't take her talent away. I think she's a wonderful fit sound wise. But she definitely should have just done her own thing with the older LP songs instead of trying mimicry. I wish music listeners listened to music with more critical thought. I don't think your opinion is wrong, but I definitely think you don't put a lot of effort into analyzing the things that you're consuming and are just blindly loving the new singer because nostalgia of your favorite band making new music. Please actually think for once when you listen to their music. You'll be surprised what you're capable of fine tuning in your music taste

songs a banger, i really like it. sounds to me like linkin park around Minutes to Midnight (2006ish) yet it also sound completly different, if that makes sense. the thing is, when i watched the live stream i did not listen for chester, just how she sings the older songs and she has her own style for the songs, as it should be, no one wants a chester clone. as for how the new album sounds like? we see. if the new album is anything like this song it is gonna be good, when Howard replaced Jesse in Killswitch Engage the people did not like it yet they made great music, when Brian Johnson replaced the late Bon Scott, people did not like it, yet ACDC became one of the biggest bands in history. there are many examples where a new lead singer gave a band a second wind, although there are some were it failed.
@DrClownPhD
@DrClownPhD 10 күн бұрын
What???? People absolutely adored Howard when he replaced Jesse. What the fuck are you even talking about? Most KsE fans come from the Howard era. Why do you wake up and choose to make shit up on the internet? And most of the hatred towards Emily that I've seen has to do with her potentially being in bed with Scientology. The only thing that needs a statement on is why the fuck she was there at Masterson's side during his court case. That's suspicious behavior when we don't have any information, and if it turns out she's good friends with a convicted rapist that goes DIRECTLY AGAINST EVERYTHING LINKIN PARK HAS EVER WRITTEN AND STOOD FOR AND SHAME ON MIKE AND CHESTER'S WIFE FOR OKAYING THAT. But they probably have context as to why she was there at the court trial (even though she couldn't go into the room itself) or they just were ignorant of this. Either way, if she wasn't pressured into Scientology (and there's a big possibility that she was indeed forced into it being a 2nd generation Scientologist) then that pisses all over the band we love and we should not support them

I swear a lot of people don't realize some bands lose members but still go on and do great. Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica, etc. Losing a member doesn't mean the band needs to stop, they can go on as an homage to their lost members. Lol, in Metallica's case that man was treated with absolute disrespect. Avenged Sevenfold's creativity died with Rev and now they make garbage butt rock and psychedelic experimental butt rock. Linkin Park lost a prominent figure within rock and a beloved front man. Difference here is that the rest of the creativity behind the music of Linkin Park is still intact. We lost an idol and an icon, yes. But we didn't lose Linkin Park. It's very weird to me that people even feel the need to make comments like this

@TheBeardedAtheist 9 күн бұрын
@@krogan3760 she has not left Scientology. The lack of her mentioning Scientology is the problem. If that was the case she would have no problem coming out and saying “Scientology is a trap, don’t do it” but she can’t. If she is critical of them her parents will cut her off. She has never said a bad word about Scientology even though she grew up in it. I grew up religious and I talk major shit about religion, not constantly, but when it’s hypocrisy is on display or it’s needed to be called out but her parents paid for her music career, you think she will bite the hand that feeds her? She has a great voice and potential but if she refuses to call out her own cult publicly, the same cult that is against so much that Chester himself was for then where does Linkin park as a band end and Linkin park the music end? The music should resonate with everyone, Linkin park is all about getting help and understanding, her cult considers her to be in “Good Standing” which means she has never mentioned them in any bad way. Scientology is black and white, either you ignore what they do and pretend it’s a religion or you admit they do weird shit, acknowledge that they abduct people, isolate them, force them into slavery, and then make tons of untaxed money by claiming to be a church and it needs to be stopped. She may have gone through abuse but that doesn’t mean once you’re an adult and can get out and make it on your own you are still a shill for a corporate scam. What’s worse is if she actually believes in the religion. If that’s the case all hope is lost. Like I said, great voice in studio, live not so much, if she and Mike want to make music under another band name like Xero fine, but under Linkin park, it’s insulting. Amy Lee or any other female artist would have been a better pick.

Spreading misinformation is hell of a drug for haters like you. Only thing that was true in your comment was Tom Cruise still believing in it. Emily on the other hand have never been part of it the past 10 years and already made an apology about it on her Insta.

The only female voice that I'd put in Chester's league is Amy Lee . Now that I'd be excited to listen to. I'm sorry but as a 37 year old man who listened to all of Linkin Park back in the day and still do , this just sounds generic, we're also missing some of the original band members apart from Chester. Not impressed with the song and people saying it goes hard ... Listen to old stuff .

She is amazing for the new LP and sounds amazing on this new track. At the announcement concert she does sound good on the later era songs but you can tell she really struggled on the older stuff to the point of feeling forced. I'm sure if she put her own spin on the older tracks she could be the Brian Johnson to Bon Scott. All future tracks to come will sound great I'm sure! As for people saying she's not a replacement they're wrong, she 100% is a replacement. Chester is no longer there, there was an opening, that's what a replacement is! She's replacing the role not the person, she's not meant to be Chester.

should definitley check out the live concert they just did, I thought she killed a few of the songs and was just ok on some. I'm still very happy to have new linkin park, this song is awesome and people just need to understand there was always gonna be some change. At the same time can you imagine chester singing her parts on this song lol he woulda killed this song. I think they will make some great music again with her. My only thing that Im hoping they can find a way around it is while she does have a nice powerful voice for a woman it still just isnt quite reaching that extra umph where it just punches through the beat. without that then I think their music is just gonna be more in the pop punk kinda vibe and I really love it when they can go a bit harder.

I am good, people said the same thing about Sammy Hagar and Brian Johnson! Give her a few hit songs, Brian still sang Highway to Hell! Ease up people.

Big shoes to fill. RIP CB. Emily Armstrong can definitely hold her own staying true to the classic LP sound without sounding like a cheap imitation. She can jam and has some serious pipes. Good stuff.

They got a new drummer, Rob didn’t want anything to do with this. And the guitarist Brad said he won’t be doing the live performances another dude is named Alex or something. So studio sound is half the band and live shows in a 2 original members of the band

She’s not a replacement, she’s good enough on Chester’s material, but you don’t replace him, you honour him, and you move forward and write new music suited to her voice. Mike said it best at the live show “And in the part of Chester, YOU” (the audience) - Emily is there to be Emily, their new singer.

I think she is doing a very good job and has a great voice, but I think the grief for chester just still sits so deep that it's just too painful to listen to anything new (for me it's also very very difficult to listen to their old songs, despite really loving the band). But I hope everyone gives her the chance and respect she deserves. I can't imagine how much pressure she feels and how much hate she might get just for being in the band now. It's not her fault that chester is no longer with us and it's also not chester's fault either. You can have the best family, the best friends, you can be successful, but still have a depression so strong, that you.. you know what I mean.

I know Dead Sara for years... I think people that are more opneminded will love her... Her lirics will feat linking park, her attitude... And, because she is a woman, fans have the opportunity to focus on the future rather than kip comparing the new singer with Chester...
