Excellent. The only video I've seen that actually does a thorough job explaining how to use this scanner to bleed ABS. Thanks!

Excellent video and narrative, thank you. I changed two calipers on my 2008 Cadillac and can not bleed the brakes. Reservoir full and with assistant pumping the pedal very little fluid came out when I opened any bleeder screw. I expected the traditional stream with air bubbles present. (I have done this numerous times over the years and know the procedure.). Will try using my Motive power bleeder and jacking all wheels off the ground. In an attempt to get the air out, I will “drive” the car on stands and apply the brakes to exercise the ABS module. Rather not buy a scanner with bi-directional ABS control, if I don’t have to. However, armed with knowledge from your video will purchase the Foxwell if my approach fails. What perplexes me is I changed all the brake lines in my 2005 GMC truck, which has ABS and I had no problems. Simply filled the reservoir and bled each wheel and got the full stream expected at each bleeder. I did follow the Haynes bleeding procedure and had no ABS issues.

I had similar results first time I tried bleeding these brakes, that’s why I looked for a scanner that could run the ABS module.

@@fasnuf Gave up on idea of trying to activate the ABS with the car on stands. Just ordered the Foxwell NT360 plus based on your video. Looking forward to using it.

Bought it based on your endorsement. It worked great. Simply registered and plugged it in. My SD card was already programmed. Thought it might have been a return, but it was advertised as new. I assumed Foxwell programmed the card, which makes sense to me. Device simply needs to be registered at their website and you can get to work. I was on the verge of having the car towed away to a shop with a scan tool, but dodged that bullet. Thanks again.

I bought the same unit for performing an ABS brake bleed on a Nissan Frontier. Turns out it doesn't support the auto bleed function on my truck. Was told by Foxwell to perform the bleed manually by selecting the selenoid activation from the test screen. So basically if I want to start on right rear I will open the bleed valve and start the right rear selenoid cycling in the test menu. After 30 seconds or so stop the selenoid and close the bleeder valve. (Assuming no air is coming out) I also have the motive bleeder. What a tremendous product.

You would want to bleed in the sequence outlined in your service manual, buy yes you'd have to manually actuate the valve for the wheel you're at. I found this was the best way for me too.

@@fasnuf i want to replace the fluid on my Challenger, the bleeding function only activates the system shortly. So is i want to replace the fluid in al the brake lines i have to do this procedure many many times per site. Do i understand in the text mensioned above, that there is another function that takes care of flushing the system ? Thanks for this instruction video!

Can this scan tool update the VIN in the ABS module if say you replace the original module with a used module? If it has that miscellaneous function in there with the bleed as the old hi end scanners I used years ago at the dealer.
@fasnuf3 жыл бұрын
I did not see that as a function.

Is the front seat heat function on your scan tool used to calibrate the seats if they are replaced? For example replacing the seats with factory recaro's
@fasnuf3 жыл бұрын
I don’t know what that’s for. The instructions don’t mention it so there must be more instructions about it online.

Was your pedal better? You said you didn’t see any bubbles coming out
@fasnuf Жыл бұрын
I did get air out eventually. The issue was air in the ABS module. It took a bit to get it to the wheel but the pedal is good now.

@@fasnuf I have several vehicles that I am not happy with the brake pedal and I know it is the ABS pump. I am looking at purchasing a Foxwell NT630 to help me
@crbws6676 Жыл бұрын
@FasNuf Garage By 'eventually', meaning the air did eventually come out during your first bleed, or did you have to do more ABS autobleeds? I have fresh Castrol SRF in the system so I am trying to minimize the number of bleeds, haha, and have about 0.8L left to get the job done ideally. Thanks!

Instead of using a pressurized system attached to the master cylinder, could I just use a vacuum pump attached to the individual brake cylinder?
@fasnuf9 ай бұрын
As long as the master cylinder never allows air in or runs low on fluid you should be good. Yes, the mighty vac type system would work
@thestove24073 ай бұрын
The Vaccum systems are known for sucking air in ... around the other wheel cylinders.

Thx for the video. I’m preparing to do the ABS bleed on my ‘22 SS 1LE. How did you get air in your system? Did the procedure get your pedal high and firm? I ran my reservoir dry and am trying to get my pedal firm again. Been a struggle. Also, how full do you have your reservoir when you connect the motive bleeder?
@fasnuf Жыл бұрын
Yes I ran it dry by accident. The pedal firmed up after bleeding like in the video. Air was in my abs module.

The controller does each line individually, not sure what te relay would do.

If you suspect having air trapped in the ABS module, then it's best to modulate the valve to get the air to purge.
