First off, the upgrades on this car looks awesome. I know it's been floating around that it will be a parts special for people to customize their current Integra Type S's even more, but why just let it stop there. Some people might actually want a Limited Edition Integra Type S HRC built as is. I say, "Why not offer it both ways?" You'll satisfy both sides of the enthusiast market, current owners, and potential future owners for this car? If you do offer this car as is, offer it in two forms. The first form is the way you see it as is from outside to inside, which you know people will take it to the track. This would be your Integra Type S HRC Track Package. The second form is the way you see it as is, but it swaps out the track wing spoiler for a more street style wing spoiler, put the backseats back in the car, but customize the backseats exactly like the front HRC Recaro bucket seats for the back, and swap out the suede steering wheel for a full leather wrapped D-shaped flat-bottom steering wheel with an Indy Yellow Pearl stripe at the top of the steering wheel. This would be your Integra Type S HRC Extreme Street Package. Make 2,000 total, but 1,000 a piece of each of the two HRC packages and that's it. When you get close to the Integra Type S's mid-cycle refresh model years, add a lot of stuff on the HRC as standard equipment and tweak and refine everything to slot in between how the HRC drives and the standard Integra Type S drives where it has its own mode. If you want, reintroduce the HRC car in its final model year as a DE5 Final Edition model with a new color like Double Apex Blue and give it the Double Apex Blue exterior and interior treatment with no production cap until the last vehicle is ready to roll off the assembly line into the last customer's hands. It's just my opinion and ideas.

Thanks always for the support! Appreciate the detailed comment & feedback! Great ideas all around! The market response for this thing has been through the roof! Now we’ll just have to wait and see if some or all of this comes to fruition! And then see if people will actually put their money where their mouth is!!

Great video Jon! My engineering day job is in aerodynamics, so I love to see all the new aero tweaks on this car, which look functional. Be curious to know if these were developed using CFD or wind tunnel testing. The stock rear diffusers are more cosmetic than functional, so it would be cool to see if they could be modified as well. Nothing against big wings (this one looks great) but they are draggy and don't help the wake. Diffusers can add a lot of downforce and offer a drag reduction. A well defined diffuser also looks dramatic and tells everyone the aero package means business. As I mentioned in my comments on Facebook, I'd jump on a specialty halo model like this, but Acura really needs to step up the quality over the standard Type-S. It's a great car -- love the way it drives -- but there are a lot of interior rattles, body panel fit is inconsistent, and the paint quality is disappointing -- the worst I have seen from Honda/Acura in the 37 years I have been buying their cars. Maybe the HRC would make a good candidate for production at PMC where all those issues could be addressed. When I mentally ballpark a price for the HRC, I think it's going to get up into a range where the quality needs to be impeccable. It will be a collector car someday.
@Drive_CultureКүн бұрын
Thanks for the comment and the detailed feedback! Yeah we are all hoping that this goes to production in some shape or form! To your point, having this hand built at PMC would help achieve an even higher point of quality! My ITS is VIN #190 and it has none of the issues you mentioned, but of course, there are others on the forums that have mentioned similar complaints. With that said, let’s see if this ITS HRC becomes a reality or not! Hope you subscribed to come back for more!

Yes. Yes, Acura should build this car as a low-volume halo car. There are people out there who will buy this as the whole car, or even just the parts to add to their Integra Type S. As an ITS owner, I’d probably do at least the hood and front bumper, and the Titan 7 wheels do look great. (Edited)

Yes 3 different colors in limited quantities, a carbon fiber roof as well with more carbon on the front and rear diffuser. Make the rear quarter panel one entire piece like the FL5’s body style by eliminating the tacked on pieces IMO it would look much sexier. Make the parts available for customers to do the upgrades but they wouldn’t have the advantage of the carbon roof and rear quarter design in the limited colors.
@Drive_CultureКүн бұрын
Thanks for the comment & feedback! Yeah that’s what Acura did for the TLX PMC edition! The rear quarter panel is connected all the way to the front A-pillar, so it’s a much bigger piece than the FL5 and why it wasn’t changed in the first place. It looks fine, never had anyone call it out or anything IRL! Let’s keep our fingers crossed that at least some of this prototype makes it to production!

25 majestic black ITS owner. How is Borla exhaust sounds compare to oem? I wish ITS came with adjustable active sound control at Sport + real or fake if had an option to turn up the sound, hearing helps with shift points. Most people hates CTR fake noise but I find it useful at track. ITS already has ASC built in, why not offer sound level adjustments? I don’t think that would be costly for Acura.
@Drive_Culture22 сағат бұрын
Thanks for the comment & feedback! Congrats on the MBP ITS! The Borla exhaust is out in the market, so you can check the forums or even some driving video of this ITS HRC to get a feel for the sound! Are you talking about the “beep” that CTR does to let you know to upshift? Otherwise the ASC in the CTR doesn’t really seem to help with shifting, it just “enhances” the engine sound (basically making it a bit louder)! Driving the cars back to back, the difference is the CTR has a much higher pitched tone with the beep, and doesn’t get the pops & crackles from the exhaust. I hear you though, if that higher pitched engine sound is what you’re after! Hope you subscribe to come back for more!
@trackeagle601322 сағат бұрын
@ Thanks I will check out Borla videos. And yes I was referring to the “high pitch” sound of CTR, engine/exhaust noise helps me know where I am at power-band so I knw shifting point is approaching. Especially at track when the car is quite, it throws my rhythm off. I just wished car manufacturers offered adjustable ASC. Since they already built in, why don’t they let us decide the volume level? I always wondered this.

Thanks for the comment & feedback! I get where you’re coming from, but at the end of the day… to get this level of performance there’s a recipe that most OEMs follow… because it works! This means wide body kits, big wings, and crazy aero!

It will all boil down to HP and engine flexibility to expand performance by owners. Visuals are really just mods that can be added to customize car but if there is no real engineering performance from engine, braking and transmission, then it will fail miserably
@Drive_Culture23 сағат бұрын
Thanks for the comment! While Acura & HRC haven’t said what an estimated power output could be, they did mention that the output, response and cooling performance of the high-revving turbocharged 2.0-liter VTEC® engine are improved with a larger intercooler, twin oil coolers and a tuned, lightweight cat-back exhaust system, all developed for the Acura Integra Type S HRC TCX race car.
@danielmelendez994312 сағат бұрын
@ i am just worried that they keep putting Type S branding in everything and thats not the way to sale more cars. I test drove the MDX and it was disappointing. Now they are talking about the RDX type S, as a possible model for next year. Type S, shookd have been only for the NSX.

It is the year 2025 and everything has doubled and tripled in price in the last 25 years! I bought a brand new 2002 RSX Type S and it was almost 30K brand new over 20 years ago. So this ITS is priced right. The price makes all the sense in the world at 52K. Not cheap at all but definitely matches with what it was 20+ years ago.
@nissanhonda254 сағат бұрын
@ it’s not priced right as it’s not selling. No type S is. They are too slow and too overpriced.

This ITS is a ton of fun! In fact this is the fastest FWD car ever made including the CTR. You will not find a manual gear box like this for less money. Just won’t find it. FUN, FWD, Manual gear box, at 3200 lbs. Just won’t find it. Only the CTR which is the same gearbox. So your Slow statement is FALSE 😆
