People are paying over $65000 in pick up trucks and they have recalls and issues left and right. I bought a 2025 integra type S and I’m in love, I don’t want to stop driving it. I don’t care the fwd I had subaru sti awd in the past and this beast is insane fast and give me a lot of fun, and the most important thin with the Japanese reliability I can sleep in peace.

I know the feeling. I also own a Type S and I just can't get enough of it. It's so fun to drive and sound so good. I also owned a 2004 STi , an EVO IX MR, BMW 335 XI, Audi S3 etc.. and seriously the Type S is close to the top for me, for multiple reasons, not only performance. It will keep lots of value too, super rare, I have only seen one other Type S on the road and bought mine 2 weeks later lol.

@Juslav the common theme is everyone who has one loves it. Anyone who doesn't think it needs awd or a sunroof 😁

It’s not “insane fast” in the least unless you’re used to moving at a snails pace. It’s also American built, which you can tell by the rattles, body gaps, other things that make this vehicle a stretch at $55k. I’m not a hater at all, own an FL5, have been a Japanese car fan my entire life and have owned a lot of cars higher and lower on the pay scale, simply being honest in assessment. Honda is getting crazy with these prices, what a paid for my FL5 @ MSRP is a stretch let alone this Type S which to me is a worse vehicle.

unpopular take: people need to stop saying this needs 4WD. Honda has done pretty good with their front wheel drive enthusiast cars. You can really feel the road, cornering ablity and the differential working. If this was 4WD it would be quite an understeery mess, and quite muted. Which isn't Honda's character...

Agree. It's not really necessary. The Type S handles really nicely.
@vincechii6958

i agree but that is why there is this car called Honda Civic Type R. People buy acura for comfort which make more sense to have awd on the car. So all there is to this car now is just a Type R with heated and leather seats. I can look past the fwd aspect if they were to make the integra as a 2 doors sport car.

Nice video/nice review. As an ITS owner who uses this car to commute to work in the Sun Belt, I have not found any faults. I don't even turn on the audio systerm--happy just focusing on the engine sounds and driving experience. "Everything [I] need."

Man I really want one, but there are features that I need for that price point that they just missed. I don't like the cup holders in the back seat, give me 5 seats. Plus, there's no back seat vents (I have back seat passengers often in my car). No ventilated seats is a miss as I live in Texas and that's such a nice feature, it's hard to imagine paying this much and not have it. If I were a single dude living it up, this car would be my absolute number one pick!

Sounds like you need the MDX Type S. Need to understand that the history of Integra Type R & RSX Type S has always had those cup holders in the back seat. It’s a signature from the past Integras. Glad they continued it to feel that connection to the past. Definitely a fun car to drive. 👍

The front fender flares are indeed molded as part of the fender. The rear is a combination of molded and stuck on. I actually like that they are very pronounced because you can actually see the flares easily. On the Type R, the flares are so subtly blended that it’s kinda hard to see them; which ultimately is counterintuitive, from an aesthetic standpoint.

If you want the type R for whatever your reasons are, just spend the extra 300 bucks and grab the Type-S' damper module. It's fully interchangeable and your Type R will now ride noticeably more smooth. Hell, you'd probably save money if you can get the Type R near MSRP.

@@PowerTom_kyle sunroof option was intentionally left out to save weight. As for the rear vents, do you really plan on carting adults in the rear seat of a compact vehicle for a road trip? Sheesh. I feel bad for those adults. Ventilated front seats would have been nice though.

I was deep into negotiations for a Type S and on a whim I went to my local Honda dealer who had a Type R. The moment I sat in the Type R it was over. The seats are better, the S2000 inspired gauge cluster is better, the real (not tacked on) rear quarter flares are better, and the price is better (yes I got the Type R at MSRP). And to top it all off, the Type S has a luxury tax in my state because it’s over 50k. MSRP to MSRP, the Type S is not worth the added money. What’s worse is the ITS is missing some key standard features for a luxury / premium car. Like a heated steering wheel as standard, vented seats, rear HVAC, or memory seating. And the build quality on the ITS was also disappointing. The tacked on rear flares look bad in person, there’s noticeable gaps and the paint matching is off (as it always is on painted plastic). And the body panels up front were slightly misaligned. Places where the body panels met, like the fender and bumper, weren’t even on both sides. To add insult to injury, my daily CX-30 turbo was 40k out the door and has more luxury features than the ITS. Including memory seats, heated steering wheel, rear HVAC, and an auto lifting hatch. The ITS felt cheaper than my grocery getting mom-mobile. I didn’t intend to buy the Type R but for the money, it’s just the better car.

You think this car needs AWD until you actually drive one... Those Michelin tires from the factory in warm weather grip the road unlike anything I've ever driven. Your coffee will fly out of the cup holder long before this japanese monster understeers

You're not going to see 4WD options because of Fuel Efficiency Standards. Car manufacturers are required to be "green", and 4WD hurts fuel efficiency.

If this had SH-AWD, it would be one of the best cars available at the price point. But a re-badge of a Civic Type R is a punt and shows that Acura still doesn't know who they are.
