I just received my "broke-in" engine. I am 100 percent sure I bought the break in and not the other combo (my part number matches). This engine had no oil whatsoever and the glow plug was in a bag not installed like I see in some unboxing videos. The idle gap is also way big to be tuned. Tried to call Amain but they are closed on Saturday.

Hello, I hope all is well with you! The engine will be packed as if it came from the factory. If it is the broken in version from us it will have the carb set, zip tie on the carburetor boot and a slip with the final running instructions. This is a yellow or pink slip of paper and will have our business card and small stickers. Thanks!

I beat the shit out of my engine 2nd tank in. No issues at all. I think the whole break in process is 95% Fugazi.

The break-in process is very important to the overall performance and life of the engine.

Penny Budget I know from experience that break in process WILL absolutely govern how your engine performs. You beat the shit out of it 2nd tank. Just because the engine doesn’t blow up at that point doesn’t mean you haven’t just shortened the life of the engine, just caused your mileage to drop, just dropped the actual torque and power capability down by a pretty good margin. After owning many nitro engines of all the same model and breaking them in properly after wearing out the first few. Once I started breaking them in I got way better consistency in tuning temperature and performance. To add to that I started getting twice as much life out of them. I’m talking 20 gallons of fuel as opposed to less than 10 gallons. Breaking it in properly actually doubles the life of your piston and sleeve and sometimes crank. I’ve proven it to myself over and over. Adam you are a great ambassador to our sport and the most trusted person when it comes to nitro engines. I haven’t caught you in a fib yet🙂
