Very few "good" coin wash places allow bucket washing without letting the meter run. I've been run out of a good number of car washes by bucket washing. One owner threatened to call the cops for 'stealing'.
@WeKnowTheTruth20128 жыл бұрын
Theres one 2 blocks down from my house that allows it. They literally make a buck more since i need to run it twice 3 dollars each
@Methodical26 жыл бұрын
You just have to find the best time (usually at night or very early morning) to use the bay. Me, I just go through the touchless wash to get the big heavy stuff off during winter months and to get the underbody wash. When there's a warm day, I will only then put a rag to the vehicle. It's protected, so I'm not worried much in the winter months.
@hansolo42676 жыл бұрын
It is stealing, it's theft of service, same as shoplifting. You rent the bay to wash your car, and the meter is there for you to pay that rent. The owner has the right to demand said rent or have you vacate the bay, and if you don't you're both stealing and trespassing. Also, I shot first.

My local car wash folks here start yelling if they see anyone using a bucket or hand drying in the bay - even during off peak hours. So in the winter - touchless car washes are the only option. Shell has a half decent one.
@Jordan-pg2zz5 жыл бұрын
I like to spend around 3-4 pounds on this type of wash. I put 1$ in and just rinse the car down to get some mud off, next I put another $ in and spray it down with soap for the whole 4-5 mins. Next I wash my car with the correct brushes/mits. Then last I spray some wax on it then rinse all off. 3$ spent. Then I use the other 1$ for vacuum.

Go to these places during non peak times and you wont get messed with for using your own bucket. I do it all the time and don't get messed with. Generally these things will start for $2 bucks and run for 8 mins. Bring all you stuff like the video shows just take all the extra steps out. 1st put $2 bucks in, spray your car with soap everywhere for 3 of your 4 mins. Then use the last min to use the wax and spray that all over your car. If it has a seperate foam wax nozzle even better!!! Never use the brush. Now spray your rims and let the soak while you take your bucket and mit and wash your car. Then finish your rims and tires. 2nd put another $2 bucks in and spray off your car for 3 min getting all the crap and soap off it. Then for the last min use the spot free rinse to finish the car off. Pull it out of the bay and dry the car off, apply tire shine and your done. Clean your wash mit and stuff at home and you just washed your car for $4 bucks in about 15 to 20 min.

Honestly, there is a gas station on Federal Blvd in Denver that I go to that has a $5 basic car wash that is brand new, and lets me "loiter" over the undercarriage blasters for as long as I really want. On my daily driver, I usually go there after Denver dries out from the previous snow storm simply to spray off the undercarriage thoroughly, the rest of the car being fairly clean is just a bonus. Otherwise I have a hose adapter for my faucet and I can run warm water all the way to the driveway. That is really where it's at.

I spend a total of $1.50 for a 4 minute wash at the self service car wash. I drive into a self service bay, add $1.50 in quarters and spray down my car with a high pressure rinse water to remove dirt, dust etc. i Drive out, park and do a rinse-less wash with 6 MF towels soaking in a bucket with the rinse-less wash solution. It takes me about 30 minutes max. I dry my car with a microfiber drying towel with a drying aid applied to the paint. Viola, my car is happy, my wallet is happy.
@davejohnson38606 жыл бұрын
Never ever use same towels for body, and wheels(tires). When drying lift good and trunk( leftgate) to drip excess h2o, then wipe. Also being it's winter definitely clean all wipers, due to small it's of dirt, road salt etc... Before cleaning your vehicle do a walk round inspection, which will save you time, and if you can clean mats at home that will save money on the back end. Otherwise I like the vide!

The carwash owner doesn't like it when you keep the bay door open in winter temperatures! So you'll get a lot of fumes from all the drivers who leave their cars running while they wash! This isn't a good idea in Minnesota winter unless you have heated parking. Washing can mess with door latches and make them perform very poorly, and can lead to doors freezing shut along the door seal!
@scottcollins49389 жыл бұрын
Honestly can't say I have seen anyone take this long cleaning their car at a car wash. Not only do you have to pay premium price for the products, you have to sit outside for 40 minutes using them. I want to see the video after he drives around and how quick the car gets dirty again haha. I used to be a car guy keeping it clean and detailing but I have just started my career and in my experience (depending on where you live) it seems like wasted effort one rain or snow and you are back to square one.
