For the pen pressure, I found this too. But I went in my Corel Painter's brush calibration and now it will detect the lightest touch.
@MrSkullhunterxx5 жыл бұрын
I´ve been working with that tablet for a couple of months now. The issue of picking up on very low pressures seems to strongly depend on the angle you use the pen. It works better when you use the pen in an almost 90 degree angle to the screen. The more you hold then pen at an angle the worse the pickup gets on low pressure due to the way then pen mechanism works.

In case anyone is wondering, I had the same problem with sensitivity, but after playing with the pressure settings (after downloading the most recent driver), I was able to fix it. Not sure if it's a new update or not, but it picks up my lightest strokes nicely and I don't have to press firmly to tap/select anything. Thanks for such a great video, Adam! I'm really enjoying my new tablet :)

Did you got the 191-v2 or v3? Got a good deal for about 300€/$ for the Kamvas 20 2019 (191-v3), should arrive soon.

Good honest review. About the initial force needed, i ve had the same problem with the huion q11kv2 and this was just impossible for me to work on this tablet as a Light handed artist. But ive given huion a second chance by buying one of their last products, the kamvas pro 20 2019. I just recieved it and so far it works like a charm. Not much parallax, good sensations and most importantly for me, you dont have to press the hell out of this pen to get your line detected. By just barely touching the screen sliding the pen along the surface with almost 0 pressure, the tablet gets the very light mark youre looking for. You really have to grab your pen by the end tip or tilting the pen quite a lot to alter the detection. So if this tablet lasts long i would be very satisfied for that price Anyway thanks for talking about this topic, this is something really few reviewers talk about and yet this is so important for light handed artist like me!

Finally someone who mentions initial activation force
@tanglingheadphones5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for pointing out the activation pressure, that's an important one. I have a light touch and I often have to adjust Wacom's pressure curve so that a stroke's full strength/width occurs earlier for me. This tablet looks so great otherwise though, it's amazing how much progress Huion's had with pen displays over the years.

Thank you so much for this review. I’m about to buy one second hand on Marketplace. My only concern that you haven’t covered is left-hand mode. I know all Huion products have that covered but I haven’t found any review actually testing it.
@ragecandy5 жыл бұрын
I've used everything and honestly I think huion is up there, what I noticed is that it's not really that the pen has high activation force (like let's say n-trig), but that the pen is kinda spring-ish, so it won't really start painting until you press the nib a little bit, like, it doesn't start painting the second you feel it's touching but once you actually press it a little bit, it's kinda like a quill pen or something like that, it's hard to explain but you get used to it, worst case scenario just make the pressure curve harder so that the lower pressure comes out at a higher level of strenght. But yeah even then I used the surface pro 3 for like a solid year and that didn't start painting until like at 40% opacity so huion just seems pasable to me lol
@dpcdpc115 жыл бұрын
Yep, that's the problem I've noticed as well. Using an Inspiroy Q11 and have the same springy pen tip which is really annoying compared to my wacom intuos pro and it's noticeable for example when you want to draw a straight line from thin to thick. So they definitely need to find an alternative solution to the springy tip and will be one step closer to wacom.

I wonder if the screen protector has anything to do with the pressure sensitivity issue
@deathcrave30215 жыл бұрын
The odd lack of pressure at low pressure issue you had with this reminded me of my issues with my Monoprice / Parblo Coast 22. With that monitor it has a second setting, mouse click settings, which are in a seperate controller from the main tablet settings but still within the same folder. This may be the same issue.... maybe not? Sadly for me I am having to research new tablet options as my Pen for my Monoprice / Parblo Coast 22 has broken. And as they no longer offer replacements... or even sell them... I will sadly need an entirely new Tablet / Monitor. And in my current financial situation... I'll be looking at the budget options again. Likely going for a 15.6 / 16 instead of the larger 22's simply to save a little bit and hopefully be easier to work with. Though the extra screen real estate was incredibly nice for both Clip Studio and Krita, which are similar to photoshop in that you tend to have plenty of sidebar stuff... though thats more of a work space preference thing I suppose.

Great review Adam! Didn't know they'd updated the gt-191. I've been using my huion gt191 (the first version) for a few three years now i believe. I can draw pretty light lines on it, and pretty heavy ones too. (So i wonder if perhaps the problem you're experiencing is a driver issue. Here's hoping it can be fixed, I believe that Huion is going in a good direction!) I can paint and line relatively easily to the point that it can replace the experience of a few traditional mediums. For me atleast. I used to use a tablet with no screen, and i believe that getting a screen tablet helped me alot. Its a decent sized tablet with a good resolution. Make sure you get a screen protector though, because your pen can scratch the glass unfortunately. x/ I'm exremely happy that the pen has been updated! I have two pens that require a recharging cable. While i don't need to charge them for a few months on end, its annoying when i have to go find the cord. I'm dissapointed that the cords are still connected to the bottom... the cords on my huion have dislodged a few times with movement. Sometimes i prop my huion up on books or a blanket so that i can get it at the angle i want it, so i don't need to be fearful of the cords positioning. I wonder why they decided to put the cords here? Maybe it might alleviate a left or right hand bumping into the cords depending on whichever side they rest? Thats all i can think of in technical standards. And no, screen tablets do not make you a better artist, but they do help significantly. Say for example, you ink or draw traditionally, and you need to color it. You either have to copy the whole drawing to something else and then color over it, OR you risk ruining your original drawing. With the copy, you always risk having to redraw over and over due to coloring mistakes until you're fed up with it and just move on. And sometimes thats the only way. BUT with a digital device to color your linearts... you can save alot of time depending on how used you get to the process.

Hello, i have a question, a small tablet (whitout screen) is enough for study (concept art, illustration, etc..), work and draw in general? or is better go for a medium tablet?, i know the tool don't make the artist but is my first tablet so i don't know what's better for start study and work(some pixel art), some people say "smalls are bad for wrist" others say the opposite, so i don't know which is better, a huion h1060p (medium) or a wacom intuos (small)?, reading some opinions it seems that wacom assures me the quality and has no problems with any program, so the huion can be a risky option, but, well, the size.
@markostamenkovic83505 жыл бұрын
Medium is imo a big improvement over small ones. Your hand and wrist can start to hurt from cramped small space. And also there's a bit less control on a smaller surface. I hope you went with the Medium huion. There really isn't much to talk about in non-screen tablet world; they're all pretty much the same thing.

I was about to buy one until I found a review on amazon saying that they provide free stuff like the anti-smudge glove but people need to leave 5 star reviews and sign up with them on Facebook. Typical disingenuous business practices that don't let the product speak for itself makes me unwilling to make the switch.

cheef no. The glove comes in the box before you even have a chance to review it, on the “guide” it recommends to leave a review but you dont get free stuff, i wish i did. But thats jot how it works you get the glove with the tablet.

Hey peeps... I am probably going to buy this one.. the v2... but honestly after this review I'm doubted if I should do it... ot is ot too outdated? I do digital painting, sketching and some animation. For me I want to be able to grow with it. I've been using the wacom intous 4 for years... the non screen one and would really like to switch to a screen drawing tablet. That 5 percent pen pressure sounds like it sucks? I am actually someone who does draw lightly... and having to press a lot.. i dont know if it would be a good purchase. I'm getting it 150 euros second hand... quite well taken care of by someone I know .. What do you think?
