I found your channel right after I graduated school. You have helped me better my practice and keep me in the knowledge of the anatomy we all as Massage therapists need to know but tend to forget easily. Thank you and Im so so thankful for you.

Hi Maria, I especially appreciate the videos such as this one that focus on these less-likely-to-be-worked, more sensitive (because of proximity to our private parts) muscle groups. Thank you! I would love a video on how various massage styles & techniques affect our nervous systems and how we can make our massages smooth, flowy, and great for the recipients' nervous system (in terms of calming, offsetting the daily stresses and business of life). Thanks so very much 🙏💜

Thank you so much for your feedback. I do think that the more relaxed & normal you act when you are working near private areas, the more your client can relax. Just be respectful & aware if you sense anything that makes them uncomfortable. I appreciate the suggestion on the video of different modalities. I just might do that! Thanks

This is a very good question! There have been studies on how massage affects the body. Keep in mind that the circulatory system is the one that is responsible for carrying nutrients & oxygen to all the trillion cells In your body. The cells don’t go looking for nourishment. They receive it from the bloodstream. Muscles need an abundance of calcium, oxygen & nutrients to be able to function properly. So when you receive a massage to help the circulatory system flow & carry out its job. Muscles heal themselves by increasing blood flow to the area (hyperemia) when skin turns red through heat, friction, massage you’re increasing blood flow to that area. Thus massage improves almost every system in the body! It been proven that it helps bring down blood pressure, helps clients sleep better, it helps to flush out liquids so clients usual need to use the bathroom afterwards. There are so many benefits to massage therapy that I can’t name them all. What I will say is that oxygen heals the body & we help with blood circulation. I hope this helps you understand a little more on the benefits of massage therapy! I’ve seen clients heal themselves throughout my 35 years of experience
