I am so sorry for what you have been through. I can't say I understand about anorexia but I was addicted to heroin and crack cocaine and before that alcohol I was in intensive care by the age of 24 my organs were failing yet I still drank I could not stop. It broke my family's heart to watch me killing myself. I can however fully understand about the benzos I've been on them for 30 years I have tried and failed to come off of them. They are evil to come off of. Rachel you are a hero and so are you adeptus what a wonderful father and husband you are. So much love for you all ❤just listened to the rest of this I have tried DMT and have been microdosing mushrooms but I'm still on the benzos even though it's the smallest dose I've ever been on. I have stopped my ssri's but I need to be free of the benzos because along with those and the heroin I have numbed myself to lots and I do mean lots. Anyway I'm just so happy to hear your story had a happy ending today much love ❤️

So good to see you back Rob! Sending love and light to your family. I've been going through my own crisis; going to be homeless in a few weeks, not the time for tripping one might think but after getting so stressed out that I started eyeing up the old vodka bottle again, I decided to take a few hours out to hang with my mushroom friends. The antidepressant effect was astounding. I realised in the days after that the trip was just a side effect of the antidepressant! I'm still going to be homeless but now I am filled with a determination to make the best of the situation; drunken crying isn't going to help anyone!

So good to see you back, and glad to hear that things are mending on the home front. My own experience: I thought that the blue mushies kicked off some awful anxiety and panic attacks a few years back, but now that I've processed what they showed me over a few years I realize that deep anxiety was always with me through childhood and explains a ton about my life and family. The red mushies are now helping to control and mitigate all that now (with guidance from Amanita Dreamer). So your thoughts about them amplifying what is already there is valid. Then comes the working through what they showed us for better self understanding.

Alan Watts said "This, then, is the human problem: there is a price to be paid for every increase in consciousness. We cannot be more sensitive to pleasure without being more sensitive to pain." And I think this is what you were talking about with people feeling less able to cope after a psychadelic experience. Maybe? I have had to face a lot of PTSD this year after a bad road accident in November. In fact it was more than that, I lost my home of 8 years as I lived in my van which was written off leaving me homeless. I am sure that my experience with psychadelics over the years equiped me with many of the tools I use to cope. It has been hard but I have since been lucky and I am back on the road. But the PTSD is still very real. I think I am quite strong minded though, thanks to the experiences I have had over the years, and a little wiser. Sorry to hear of your year bro. And so very glad to hear that your partner is returning to health. I know the road will be long. But I think the strength it takes to perform a turnarround like that is the strenth that will carry you through! I wish you both love and luck on your journey.

I used DMT very intentionally to try and see what improvements I could make to my chronic pain from a movement disorder. I got so much more than I ever dreamed! The experience really delivered as regards pain and in about a month I was feeling quite different. That’s when I started rebuilding my motor functions and not quite a year later I don’t even think a neurologist would notice I have anything going on!

That's great, and you are not the first person that I have heard from who has experienced a massive reduction in pain from DMT usage. I also had similar improvements in my back pain (I have fractured my spine in several places) and it just seemed to get better after ayahuasca.

Onya Rob. It's a relief to have just a little understanding and empathy regarding dark trips. I mostly don't even bother trying to explain it any more. If people can imagine paying the karmic debt for every past lifetime of your own, and of the entire human species, that starts to come close. As much as I learn about shadow work, I feel like there's huge chunks of missing information. Fear is the mind killer for sure.

Great video Glad Rachel is doing better and your creativity is coming back online - In times of severe stress, there is just no space for creativity - it is all about getting through a challenging time... Well put - we gain a competely different perspective how we look at the world, and this can be so liberating. I have come full circle in certain ways, yet way more right hemisphere in a good way, zooming out of certain things that were not beneficial to me...

Mate, that was a heart tugger. I'm glad to hear you're over this awful period and I hope the recovery continues for you. I also completely agree with you, I haven't touched any phychedelics for almost a year now for my own completely different yet similar reasons. Personally, when tripping my mind seems to go into a thought loop of whatever it is I cannot resolve and I simply cannot stop the thought from looping and frankly it has been a terrible experience and I think this is where the term "bad trip" comes from. Its never a comfortable experience for me anyway, but during particularly bad times with ongoing issues you can't resolve that are out of your control and you're powerless, I would avoid. However, as you say, they can still be helpful, but you have to be experienced enough to know what you're going to get and be able to go in prepared. If its done right, it can help you to accept the problem and accept that there's nothing you can do and help you to remember you're just a small part of something very big and your problems will come and go. I think experience is key, and that can even come from videos like yours here. So im glad you're back at it, I'm glad things are getting better and look forward to more content! Oh and don't forget your website!!

Welcome back, Rob. I'm glad the worst of it has finally blown over. Out of interest, was there any event that you could point to that triggered Rachel's relapse or did it just seemingly come out of nowhere?

We think there was a key moment which kicked things off. Its actually been brewing for a couple of years now, and what I describe here was really just us becoming fully aware of it. We will probably talk about it in more detail in a future video.

@@AdeptusPsychonautica Thanks Rob. Obviously the details are none of my business, but if you're glad to share I'm certainly interested to hear. All the best mate, and please pass my well wishes on to Rachel. Lee

Indeed. From my/our experience I will add my opinion about psychedelics during crisis… no, not without an experienced shaman and a lot of intensive integration support. I would love to talk about the profound experience I had with A.Musc. mushrooms last year and how this now previous experience is a year later serving as a box of tools for me, to integrate not just its own experience but also all those of the last five years since the episode started; and of course the illness itself, which had been present along 30 years. The downside was that the aexperience with the mushrooms was so intense that it surpassed my ability to cope with such profound psychedelic experiencess that it could have been the ultimate catalyst to the downward spiral . I’ve yet still lots to work on curating my content from the events, but in the meantime here is a small taster! (Most of these are/will be private btw) vm.tiktok.com/ZGJ7SYrKd/
