Jesus put everything out there, He did not hide or share what He did under a Rock or in the dark, and yes odd how the religious leaders heard and believed in those words more than his disciples did, but their hardened hearts and minds would not allow them to submit and testify to what they knew was true. They wanted to be more accepted of man, than God.

They did all they could to discredit and disprove what many witnesses attested to - and we still speak of it 1,000s of years later. As for those guys, who were they, what were they about? Unknown and forgotten, like dust in the wind.

The disciples had other things on their minds. Political dynasty dreams crushed. Being known as a bandit in the old days at the post office, WANTED dead or ALIVE, they hid in fear, until Jesus brought to them and their memory what was, what is, and what is to come. It all became clear then. But to think the boys were bold within themselves without the emboldening of the Holy Spirit was far-fetched. It's like comparing Barney Fife to John Wayne.

Can you imagine the ridiculousness of that story playing out, like dragging Jesus around as Weekend at Bernie's through Jerusalem, sorry - they would have been a laughing stock and thought quite sacrilegious.
