I really don't understand, and will never understand the gate keeping against Greta Van Fleet. Without these kids there would be almost nobody continuing on the art of classic rock for the next generation. They are purposely paying homage to those who came before while moving things into the 21st century. Not to mention just the sheer talent represented in this band. They deserve respect.

Not agreeing with their more strident critics, but perhaps because they are not the only band plying this and other vintage sounds; Rival Sons( criminally underexposed!), The Temperance movement, not to mention the one and not forgotten Silvertide, as well as Striker and and any number of Metal Revivalists from the frozen north on both sides of the Atlantic( such as pack leading glam revivalists Crazy Lixx from Sweden) come immediately to mind. Now granted, Greta do seem to be getting a good bit more exposure here in the states than their contemporaries - at east if the drift of comments under many of their videos are any indication - and thus more exposure to a younger audience who may have never been introduced to this style of music before. And that's saying something in itself! They're just not the outliers that some fans unacquainted with the very healthy rock and metal revival scenes think they are. ;-)

Anyone with an iota of musical appreciation can plainly see the raw talent and massive amount of work these young men put into their music.Somewhere ,someone along the line decided to begin a campaign of negativity directed at them, for reasons only known to them.Perhaps they dont play by the music industries rules(and we all know the pathetic state of that)I hope they continue to progress as artists, take risks, and be true to themselves. When I watch their performances I see Art.I wish them all the best.

@@gregkirk1842 I have to admit that i never heard of Zebra. The problem is that Blue Oyster Cult, Rush, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Uriah Heep, Cream etc were already themselves and had something of their own to contribute from the very beginning. Led Zeppelin I, Disraeli Gears, etc were alreadiy absolutely groundbreaking albums (both sonically and musically). For sure they had their influences (and Led Zeppelin in particular more than "influences") but as I said, from the very beginning all those bands were trying to be themselves and were creating something new out of those influences they had. And for sure they succeded at that, having become each of them a perfectly defined rock style and an inescapable reference. Meanwhile, the only "achievement" of these GVF guys so far is to make a retro-rock that constantly recalls (or more than simply "recalls", since they blatanty emulate or even mock) those 70's bands, but they haven't really wrote a single song "of their own" yet, nor seem to be trying to do it either. They're like seeing one of those absurd "tribute" bands, only difference is the mega-hype, and that they (GVF) are more professional and pretentious. I can understand the under-25 y.o. enthusiasm, but don't get how on earth anyone who grew up during the 70's can buy this (fake) product.
