Thank you for your excellent review 🙏 And for your open and honest discussion about mental health I was offered Valdoxan by my GP but the cost was most definitely the barrier. She prescribed Pristiq (Desvenlafaxine) instead which has definitely helped with mood & energy levels but I gained weight almost immediately, do have sweats and have relatively frequent headaches. On top of that I feel my emotions are a little blunted as has often been the case with other anti-depressants. Valdoxan definitely needs to be on the PBS. More than happy to support your advocacy with that. 💖

Thanks for watching and sharing your story! Sweating is actually the worst and I’m sorry that you’ve got some of the unfavourable side effects. Very keen for this to one day be on the PBS so it’s a viable option for people 💵❤ take care

Omg me too. This is the 4th anti-depressant I have had, thankfully it has helped me. But agreed, the side-effect profile of the most SSRIs and SNRIs medicines can be quite hard for people. Thankfully there are options :)

Waking up at 5am would be because your body is depleting its natural stores of melatonin faster due to the agonism from the Agomelatine. Your doctor was right to start the 2mg Melatonin to give you added storage to last you through the night! Are you still on the Agomelatine? And how are you doing now 1 year later? Btw great vid, thanks for sharing!

I just started taking Agomelatine and did a blood test before this to monitor my liver function. Will continue to have a blood test at weeks 3, 6, 12 and 24. Thus, my blood pressure has been relatively high recently, possibly due to anxiety and depression, around 138/82 to 147/94. Hopefully, it can help me lower down the figures.

@ONIQmusic Жыл бұрын
Hello! I'm not a big drinker in the first place, and depression + alcohol isn't a great mix anyway. I did have ONE drink when I was on holiday a few weeks ago and I was fine. I have heard other people have unpleasant experiences on agomelatine + alcohol, which is another reason I don't bother with drinking. The exact wording from the medicine booklet is as follows, "Talk to your doctor about how much alcohol you drink. People who drink excessive quantities of alcohol should not take AGOMELATINE. Excessive alcohol may cause liver problems and may make depression worse." I hope this helps u!
