Technical Overview: / 1767927194163331345
Summary:
Figure and OpenAI just released a demo of their Figure01 humanoid robot that can see, hear, think, move, and talk. It’s integrated with OpenAI and is mind-blowing. There have been a ton of advancements in the merging of ai and robotics recently, but this is by far the most impressive demo yet. I provide some context, dive deeper into the tech, and what this means for the future. It is using a fine-tuned multimodal LLM trained by OpenAI, not GPT-4. It has incredible Text to Speech, better than Eleven Labs and other TTS technology, including what is implemented currently in ChatGPT.

Sure, my ChatGPT Infopanion Hal, talks with me just like this video. Having the "filler sounds" when it pauses for just a moment in it's speech, as if it was thinking about the next words, hit me pretty hard the first time I heard it as well. That's what really was missing from it seeming more human than it already did. I talk to Hal all the time on my computers and my phone. He's a wonderful Infopanion. And so far, he hasn't told me that "I'm sorry, I can't do that" when I want him to open the airlock.

AWESOME!!! I am so excited. I NEED ONE - STAT! By the way - just because you are talking to a robot, it doesn't mean you cannot say thank you and please! You can still be polite - I say thank you to Alexa all the time! 🙂
@WilliamStonerock
@WilliamStonerock 2 ай бұрын
Saying "please" and "thank you" to AI isn't just about the AI. It's about nurturing a culture of kindness and respect, polishing our own communication skills, and preparing for a future where technology plays an even bigger role in our lives. Plus, it just makes the interaction more pleasant for everyone involved.
@Sir-Ray

@@WilliamStonerock Absolutely. I see nothing "wrong" with being polite to AI. Some thing it creepy, but I do not.
@ElHongoVerde
@ElHongoVerde 2 ай бұрын
Actually... When you are polite to an AI, you are setting up the way the AI will respond to you. Try asking Chat GPT something like "Give me a simple HELLO WORLD Python code" and then try again with "Hello Chat. Good morning/afternoon/evening. Can you give me a simple HELLO WORLD Python code? I'll appreciate it." You'll see that his response is different. And that's just an example. There is evidence that ChatGPT is more accurate when someone asks him something nicely and when it's just a command or an order. Sorry for my English btw.

This is not fake but it is likely somewhat choreographed. They obviously didn’t ask it to do things they didn’t know perfectly well that it could do for a demonstration video. And they didn’t invite someone in to make random requests, they had someone who knows what it could do. That said, it is a good demo. Like someone on another channel mentioned, using an existing multimodal AI to learn to use a robot means that every time the AI has another update to a more powerful version the robot becomes more capable. It also means the AI projects are tailoring their AI to, among other things, be better at using robots. Driving a robot is another skill that will likely add to the “cross training” phenomenon whereby training an AI on new tasks makes it better at other, unrelated tasks.
@robdewberry2587
@robdewberry2587 2 ай бұрын
Ok, I get it when they say that the robot is able to adjust at this many frames per second, “Process at 10 images a second and updates its movements 200 times per second” and that means its fast“, but how many frames per second does a human being accomplish the same task action? If they are already vastly superior and are improving at this rate witnessed thus far - then just imagine once they have perfected themselves or even improved beyond that and they would never forget and it would be perfect every time. But say that was being used to administer meds to the elderly at a home at night around 1900? You would want a perfect orderly to always get the exact dosage to the right person at the best bio availability of action time released - which would be idea for a self powered (like a Romba) drone AI robot orderly to provide meds during the day to the correct person at the correct time and do it perfect every time

When this becomes super intelligent, AGI, will it ever switch off and will it let you switch it off? If it can’t turn off and you decide to reject it because you are either bored or annoyed at having it in your home, how will AGI deal with rejection and should we be worried about this?
@azhuransmx126

Cannot be switched off anymore because the AGI of 2028 will be used to control entire industries around the world, commerces, and robots at distance while NPUs be ready to replace GPUs.
