I have been on opioids for 15 years for my fibromyalgia. I struggled so badly with chronic constipation for years. The combination that has kept me going at least six days out of seven is this: Glucomannan (plant fiber derived from a root) before one meal a day & Om-azing Magnesium from Moon Juice and a dose of 5HTP before bed. I recently began Armra Colostrum this week, so we will see what happens with that. When you’re desperate enough, you’ll try anything!

It took me many years to figure out what was hurting my digestion. I did find some guidance with a blood test that checks for good intolerances. The test helped me pinpoint a few items like Pepper and other odd things that were making me really swollen and bloated. It helped to know what to try and stay away from but I also found things that were almost impossible for me to take out of my diet. BUT, the good news is I am doing so much better with changing my diet with the guidance of the blood test. I did in the past try every single type of diet for autoimmune and chronic illness and none of it really helped. I just thought others had it easy and I never did! I think our health is just more complicated but I do have hope I can keep going and feeling better. Take care! Your family is adorable!

My heart goes out to you and everyone suffering from chronic illnesses, a few weeks ago i had a lot of symptoms like fatigue irritable stomach ,aching bones some head aches .... seeming like regardless of what i ate . I got to thinking how nursing my now 7 month old a couple of times at night but was having a later breakfast myself , that maybe my digestive acids were falling on an empty stomach and damaging my stomach lining.... i feel like Slippery Elm made the biggest difference... i had heard Barbara Oniel speak about it she has tons of really good videos out there about health. She has some talking specifically about diegestion as it relates to ibs and chronic fatigue .... my health issues seem minimal now compared to before ... if this doesn’t help, i hope u find something that does . You make great content and my pain is what had brought me to your channel . I figured if i was gona live with pain i might as well learn to suffer well specially with having 4 littles under 5 . magnesium and vit. C supposedly aid digestion (vit. C in big doses also clears some histamine from the blood). back when I had an awful reflux flare, I went on a low FODMAP, no wheat, no dairy and anti-reflux diet at once and I had never felt worse. my body was deprived of nutrients. oftentimes, the best thing we chronically ill folx can do is to choose the least damage. the reflux turned into an EoE scare, but in the end it turned out to be my biggest MCAS flareup yet. a temporary low-histamine diet stopped it within an hour. I do still eat foods high in histamine. I love eating too much to just give up the pleasure of it. what I do is try not to combine the foods that get a 3 out of 3 in histamine content in the Mast Zell Aktivierung list.

I have never been tested for EDS but a few of my doctors think I have it. (I'll do a whole video on it soon.) I also have never been tested for gastroparesis, but again have had doctors say I likely have this issue too. (haha) I just go so tired of getting tests and going to doctors that I haven't looked into these conditions more. Do you have these conditions?
@Dulcimerist
@Dulcimerist Жыл бұрын
@@Aimee_Esther I have Ehlers Danlos syndrome with POTS and intestinal dysmotility. The KZbin algorithm brought me to your channel after watching several EDS-related channels, so I guess KZbin also thinks you might have it. The most common type of EDS (which I have) is hypermobile type. There's no genetic test for it, but screening for it takes less than 15 minutes. The doctor runs through the Beighton hypermobility test where they see how much nine different joints bend, and asks a few medical history questions. The gastroparesis test is simply eating some food (usually scrambled eggs) with special dye, and they take four quick X-rays spaced a half hour apart to see how the food moves through the stomach. It only measures how well the stomach empties, so it tests for gastroparesis and not intestinal dysmotility. Definitely see if you can get checked for EDS, since knowing whether or not you have it will help your doctors and can keep you safer for future medical and dental care.

Thanks of mentioning Mestinon (Pyridostigmine) which I had never heard of. I just looked it up. It has off-label use for symptom relief and management of POTS, Dysautonomia, and Gastroparesis. I found a video called: Mestinon A Glimmer Of Hope In POTS by York Cardiology channel. Sanjay gives the best explanation about the method of action of Pyridostigmine. In essence it prolongs the availability of the neurotransmitter Acetylcholine. I've already gotten benefit in the past from supplementing with Choline and Phosphatidylcholine, which are precursors to Acetylcholine, so I think that I'll make that a more regular supplement for me. Cheers.

I didn't eat gluten for a few years, and didn't feel any better🤷. I feel better eating sourdough than regular bread. Gluten-free breads make me feel the worst actually. @@Aimee_Esther Hi Aimee, (I commented above also). Perhaps it's the particular types of gut microbiome you have, rather than the food you're eating that could be causing/contributing to the problem. Perhaps it's not just what we cut out, but what we need to put in...populating our guts with more and varied types of microbiome to help digest the foods. I'm sure you've tried a hundred different probiotics, like I have, but as per my earlier comment...one type of sauerkraut or kefir or something may help over time. But it's all trial and error. I sometimes feel like my life and eating is all one long science experiment! 😂🙄

As you I have tried every diet possible, even the low FODMAP diet (that I'm still following) is not enough currently. I'm currently on liothyronine in monotherapy (thyroid hormone T3, as T4 levothyroxine makes my hypothyroidism symptoms worse) and I noticed that my bloating reduces a lot when I take enough T3. Currently, because of a stomach issue, I can't absorb my T3 doses well enough so I relapsed into hypothyroidism, which causes in my case a huge bloating issue, I wonder if it's not oedema sometimes as I have that in my ankles and face currently. Maybe checking your T3 levels in a blood test would be a good idea if it's not already done? It might explain your resistant constipation issue as well, I know that too well. Consuming too much fibers during several days can also trigger a huge bloating issue that lasts several weeks if not months, it's so hard to find something to consume with the fear of the consequences. I also suffer from an autoimmune disease of the bile ducts called primary biliary cholangitis (a rare disorder but more frequent in women with Hashimoto's) which can cause some bloating as well so maybe checking your liver enzymes might also be a good idea.

have you tried making grains/carbs into resistance starch? I am on long term antibiotics (now for 3 years wahh) and its one of the only things thats really helped constipation and bloating, my consultant recommended it to me. Cook and cool any grain, potatoes, starchy whole foods and the cooling process converts the starch into resistant starch. You can eat them cold or reheat them and it doesn't affect the resistance starch. The reason it works is because the resistant starch gets digested by the gut microbiome in the large intestine and feeds them (like a prebiotic) its great for your gut microbiome and also constipation. I love preparing rice, potatoes, quinoa and i eat raw oats (they already have resistant starch).

For bloating I take Anti-Gas every day. It helps a lot! If you struggle with constipation you should reduce the amount of fiber. If I would sprinkle raw fiber on top of my oat meal I would get constipated too lol and too much fiber can also make bloating worse. Things like yogurt and dates could help. For me a tea spoon of fully soaked psyllium seed husks help sometimes because they absorb and hold a lot of water. Some people even take small amounts of laxatives. There's a lot of "natural/organic" things you can try and if none of them work you could still ask you doctor for help.

Hi Aimee, I'm another one with Chronic Fatigue syndrome, Fibromyalgia., constant stomach bloat, IBS subscriber 😊. I've had these things since my early to mid 20's and I'm in my mid 40's now and still battling them 😞 The constant struggle for energy and a stomach that doesnt hurt. I hear you! I've been on my own form of low FODMAP diet, gluten free etc for about 10 years now. I tried all sorts of probiotics and sauerkrauts etc but I usually didn't have a good reaction. Over the last few years I've been buying a specific sauerkraut that is made in oak barrels in a state on the other side of the country...I'm in Australia. And it's the only sauerkraut I have found that I can stomach (they make one with beetroot & citrus I usually have...because lots of cabbage on a low FODMAP diet is a big no...and I react). Anyway, just a little of this particular sauerkraut once a day with lunch has helped me quite a bit with stomach pain these last few years. So just putting it out there as an idea that sauerkraut made with other things than just cabbage and aged well (in oak barrels in this case) it seems can make a difference. Or it might work making your own too...but I know...more energy expenditure to do that! Anyway, just thought I'd share as it's been the only thing that's made any kind of even small difference for me. Thanks for sharing your videos, with your fellow CFS bloated subscribers 😆

When the constipation is bad you definitely gotta go slow with the added fibre. I tend to find it worked best to have it blended up in smoothie or cooked in porridge rather than sprinkling on top where it stays course. For the constipation my life is so much better since I started getting fresh ginger to help motility. Sometimes it's adding the dried powder to water but I find best to juice fresh and take a shot a day with things like apple cider vinegar and a bit of water and juice or making a tea with it and lemon but water not too hot. Also the usual magnesium citrate, high fibre veg working them up slowly but maybe getting rid of the tougher to digest skins, prune juice in smaller amounts and way more water and moving the body even if it's bouncing up and down on a gym ball or lying on ground doing those wind releasing yoga postures. I would get my boyfriend to literally message my belly in the evenings until we heard some movement lot. Also, once my uncles girlfriend visited hospital with chronic constipation and they offered surgery so he thought no way, there has to be a better way so he found this remedy which was something like tomato puree warmed with lots of oil and garlic and she did have pain but it got it out. Oh one more random one I had for when I was desperate, it was a green banana powdee that works as a resistant starch, I would add some to a little plant milk before bed and it would help bulk up to get it moving for the morning time. It's the kind that may not work right away but with consistency it really saved more. Ok I'll get back to watching the rest of your video now. I'm so sorry to see your belly bloat . I hope you feel better soon and find what works for you.. I can only imagine it's tough to get back to you when you have those sweet children to mind. Wishing you strength. Love your new merch. Honestly it's probably leaky gut and possibly sibo. I know you've had sibo issues that can also cause leaky gut. No judgment, but most those foods you are eating in the morning will damage your intestines more snd cause your gas and extreme bloating because they are classic antinutriant foods with those pesky chemicals in seeds, nuts, grains and most vegetables, especially tje nightshade varieties. A lot of ppl completely heal their gut and health issues going carnivore with a bit of honey and fruits for a year or so. It is absolutely amazing and could even help your constipation. I highly recommend checking out Paul Saladino MD

Yes, I do have SIBO (methane dominant). I've tried so many things to kill it, no luck so far. I also have leaky gut (according to my naturopath). Unfortunately I can't do carnivore. I tried keto once and my blood sugar dropped so low that my doctor said it wasn't safe for me. I have blood sugar issues if I don't eat carbs. :/

@@Aimee_Esther you could do the honey and fruits for sugar and carbs 🙂 I know what you mean by low blood sugars, but healing the leaky gut is essential

Hmm wondering if you are dealing with SIBO....carbs will feed that and cause all the symptoms you are mentioning. I would lay off sugar and bread carbs basically try to do mostly veggies and fruits for a while and see what that does for you. I had SIBO so I took a prescribed medicine for that basically liquid gold that medicine and changed my diet and within months was healed.

Yes I have sibo, I talk about it in a ton of my videos. I have tried going paleo, I tried doing keto. Unfortunately I have issues with blood sugar so if I don't eat carbs I get really sick. And yes I tried all the medications that were prescribed for SIBO. I also tried herbs and diets. Unfortunately nothing has helped me so far.

You need to do testing for a bacteria overgrowth and get antibiotics ASAP because managing diet will help reduce symptoms but will never cure you.

@@Aimee_Esther did you follow up with a breath test each month to mark your progress? Because I'm methane dominant and Flagyl or Neomycin are the two antibiotics that are recommended. GI's LOVE prescribing us Xifaxan which is great for Hydrogen but ineffective for Methane. I did 4 rounds of Xifaxan and Flagyl. Following up with Allicin (Methane) and Berbine (Hydrogen) for 4 months. I'm sibo free. I'm still afraid to eat bread haha but I've been able to reintroduce dairy, starches and grains. I test every 6 months now to ensure my levels are down. I also noticed that you're eating a ton of food that feeds your sibo. Although they may be good ingredients they still break down as sugar. Obviously a low fodmap diet is only a bandaid but it doesn't feed the sibo as bad. I wish you the best!!

Thank you for showing the reality of chronic illness. I'm wondering about your food sensitivities & intolerances. After years & years of gut problems, autoimmune disease, fibro etc I finally went to a naturopath doc, found out sooooo much. Along with major dairy intolerance, there's this grain potato combination thing & not eating them within at least 8 hr of eachother. Even more complicated is that potato & dairy derived ingredients is basically in everything but hidden by words like "fortified" "enriched" and chemical names. So dairy can be in a product labled "dairy free". The naturopath basically said it's best if you can learn to make all your own food. But the catch 22 is that with such bad fatigue, other symptoms & little kiddos to care for how's one suposed to make everything homemade! I've got it a bit easier per my kids are grown. But holy 🐄. Even now there's just not enough spoons to accomplish all that. You are courageous. Hope & pray you find solutions. 🙏❤️‍🩹

Thank you for sharing! I'll look into those ideas. I have gone on mostly whole food diets before and it didn't seem to help my gut unfortunately. 😣 I knew everything going in and still felt bloated constantly. Veggies are worse than processed foods for me haha. And yesss the struggle of no energy to make food homemade is so hard! I did those whole food diets before having kids. Now that seems impossible 😂😂 I know a few sensitivities I have (like peanuts and eggs and heavy dairy) What's your advice for figuring out food sensitivities? I've heard there's no accurate food sensitivity tests.

I found a protien powder called Naked Pea. I really like it. Its soy free, dairy free, gluten free, gmo free & low on sugar. I found the naked brand when I was on an elimination diet. So glad I did. At that time I picked up a product called Naked Mass. If I'm having a day I know I havent eaten enough, but dont want to eat convenient trigger foods, I can always just throw a couple scoops in my blender bottle with coconut milk or just water & I feel so much better. I choose the unflavored because the flavored options have way too much sugar, which my body doesn't do well with. It's an wasy way to cheat & get in some nutrition with extremely low effort.

Hi It'sOkToBeHappy, dry pea protein (and chickpeas), if they are not labelled USDA Organic, then they are very likely to be contaminated with the agro-toxin glyphosate. That toxin which has been implicated to cause SIBO by destroying beneficial gut bacteria and by other methods, like replacing glycine in the structural proteins that line the gut. So, it's not sufficient for powdered legumes to be labelled Non-GMO -- they really must be USDA Organic. It's great if it works for you though. Cheers.
