Thumb-screw tip: although it doesn’t matter which side you have it screwed in from, it’s best to install it on the non-battery side. That way you can still open the door to change the battery or connect the USB without having to take apart your set-up 👍

I've been happy with my HERO 7 for a couple of years, but after some trouple with it I 'upgraded' to the 10 today. I found your tutorial and may say that I like the way you explain things. Thank you so much for this easy to follow tutorial. I unboxed and started up my GoPro Hero 10 yesterday. I had to address two major issues right off the bat - had to manually update the firmware and upgrade the SD Card to a 256GB UHS-3 San Disc Extreme Plus card. Now the camera runs considerably "cooler", and I think it will be okay. I also formatted the SD Card. I ordered some tempered glass screen protectors from Amazon. Apparently users are having problems with various brands of cages not being usable with the screen protectors. I am looking at the SmallRig cage. I sent them an e-mail to inquire as to whether screen protectors would cause problems with camera insertion into the cage. The Media Mod definitely has issues with screen protectors, so that is out of the running. I don't know about the Ulanzi. I am ordering some ND lenses and the Max Mod lens. Looks like it can produce some great images. Okay, that's it. If you know about screen protector issues, I would appreciate being so advised. Thanks for this great tutorial.

Note: Don't panic if you don't get the "Install Update" message. As of beginning of October 2021 GoPro now install their new updated firmware at their factory before shipping for retail.

I appreciate your video. I do think it assumed a viewer was a LITTLE bit familiar with GoPro from past purchases...which I am not at all. I caught myself stopping and going back in your video frequently. Simple stuff...like how to insert the card....be sure to charge the battery...right off the bat! The title is "Beginner's Guide...getting started" but it's actually a little more advanced than "Beginner's" level. I did subscribe and hopefully will become familiar with it....as soon as my battery charges up.

hey man, I just got a go pro 10 in ebay I will get it next week. because I just started on the RC cars hobby. I been modifying a latrax teton. so far 51mph on it. that was yesterday. I got the speed but no and actual video recording. so is the reason I got the go pro. this go pro thing is totally new for me. so I just see this video. is just to much information, I will need to star studying on this. so i can capture video from the rc cars I got. thx for sharing. I will continue looking at your videos so i can learn the basics on this.
