I think Michonne’s love language is Acts of Service. She doesn’t say she loves him a lot. She shows him through sacrificial actions.
@fizzychizzy7 ай бұрын
The love language thing is hard. Its clear that Rick's is physical touch, acts of service, and GIFTS. Rick gives her so many gifts. Things she doesn't even know he remembers he is keeping track of to give it to her later. Michonne's is acts of service but I do think words of affirmation is there. The thing is the words she choses are not the typical, "I love you" type of words. In the broken world of the apocalypse, the words are more so, "We are incredible and strong together" "I only feel safe when I am with you." "We are the ones who live." ...in a way, Michonne provides support to his decisions, an unwavering vocal support and loyalty, that he did not come to expect from Lori or Shane in the end. Her words reaffirm the things he likes most and values about himself, like being a father, a protector, etc. Its very interesting.
@merp92117 ай бұрын
@@fizzychizzy I think you’re absolutely right. It was so sweet when she said she only feels safe with him. And in episode 5 when he called himself the Brave Man, and she replied, “more than ever.” That was beautiful, because he hasn’t felt brave in a long time. He thought the CRM had won and there was no chance of controlling his own destiny again. BTW, I’m mourning the loss of a loved one, and your comment made me smile. I love RICHONNE. 🩵

“Til my last breath, I am yours.” I thought about you because I knew you’d love that moment! 😊 Richonne forever. Did you notice Rick called him RJ for the first time? In the last episode, he said “our son” like he was still too broken and stunned to personalize it. He finally said “RJ”! And thank you for having NO time for Jadis. You nailed it when you pointed out that Jadis gave herself the luxury and freedom to go on these “confession outings” away from the CRM to visit Gabriel while Rick was a captive completely cut off from everyone he knew and loved with no emotional support, affection, or friendship from anyone. Bye bye Jadis. 🤷♀️

The dynamic with Michonne trying to kind of "find" the real Rick reminded me of a throwback episode conversation between Carol and Daryl. When they're trying to get Beth back Carol talks about the old versions of herself that keep getting burned away by the things they have to survive and Daryl responds to her by saying "we ain't ashes." That and Rick's monologue about having to learn to live being dead are just such perfect representations of what PTSD feels like and to see him working so hard to find hope in this episode with Michonne's constant love and support was so beautiful.

This episode was quiet, but still full of edge of seat moments. Seth Gilliam was a nice, nostalgic breath of fresh air. I halfway thought we would see Aaron (Ross Marquand) in the last moments of the show, but this was spot on considering Gabriel’s history with Anne/Jadis. This was a nice conclusion to a complex and interesting character. Well written and impeccably acted. Bravo Pollyanna McIntosh. I didn’t like it as much and the previous ones, but I would still rate a high 8.5/10. The 3 travelers in the woods that tried to hold them up, took it down a bit for me. They felt stuck in the middle of a story, and kinda out of no where. In the end they served a purpose, albeit a sad one.

To me, true remorse involves easily and willingly admitting you're wrongs and offering apologies to the people you hurt, even if they choose to never forgive you. But Negan has been acting entitled to forgiveness and tolerance, particularly from Maggie which is crazy. I don't feel we needed Negan to remain on the show or to be in a spinoff personally, but he has a lot of fans so...

I felt like Michonne in that souvenir shop I can’t ever find my name but I did find one in dog bone shaped in San Diego. I absolutely enjoyed Say Yes #2, oh the callbacks. That marriage proposal was everything, I see some folks had a problem with the ring but the ring was always Michonne’s, FG just gave it to jadis so she can retain some humanity. Let me just say I'm THOROUGHLY enjoying your reactions. I've seen your comments included in the older Skybound compilations, but recently came across your channel. I can't say enough how much I appreciate your examination and interpretation of character, narrative, symbolism and the human condition. And it's been so fun seeing it applied to this show. 😀 Now for the episode.... First, is anyone else weirded out by Rick in plaid? I'm so used to him in solids. And I think that top might be flannel too....which is even weirder. Second, I've never found my name on one of those touristy license plates either. 🙁 Third, I'm enjoying the song choices for these last 2 episodes. "Oh the Good Life" from E5 and "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree" from Ep 4. I looked up its meaning and it's described as "...written on the premise of a man returning home from the war. He's writing to his sweetheart inquiring if she'd wait for him". Fourth...one of my fave parts of this commentary.... Gabriel: Richonne weren't officially married. Aisha: Sir, this is not the time. Who gets married anymore? Gabriel: Rick said I should marry them (Richonne) Aisha: 🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰 LOL! Fifth, I loved how Rick was just following Michonne's lead....about the noodles, about luring Jadis out and eventually about how they're going to deal with CRM. He was like, "..my wife has spoken." 🤷♂ Sixth, I loved how dead set Michonne was on killing Jadis. But I thought it was interesting how neither Rick or Michonne could look at her actually be killed. And it was generous/kind of them to bury her. As for what's next...(these are rhetorical) Am I cray cray to suspect someone (Thorne/Beale) might have already found the letter? That's a stretch though. I'm just worried. Looking forward to the finale. I can't imagine how this will come to a conclusion. PS....can someone remind me....did Rick ever learn that Michonne lost a child? I can't remember. I know she told Carl but I don't know if she ever told Rick or if he found out some other way. Thanks in advance.

Your opinion of Jadis is so close to mine and my reactions to her scenes mirrored yours😂 I feel like the writers tried to apologize with the Apoc Proposal at the end😂😏 Side Note: is it just me or did it seem like Michonne was low key channeling some Se05 Rick towards the end of this episode, and he was the level-headed partner that she’d been for him leading up to their introduction to Alexandria (and early days with the community)? Pollyanna was a great arch villain with a fabulous crazy villain look, I’ll miss her and Rick’s relationship, desperately disliked this episode with Gabriel and Jadis and the stooges and the flimsy Richonne dialogue, I like them in love but more sophisticated, your reaction videos are great

I thoroughly enjoyed Jadis' and Gabriel's story which bolster what Rick was up against and the institution he and now everyone is up against. He I also enjoyed Michonne and Rick aren't doing heavy emotional dialogue in this episode it's just love, fun and hope after so long of none.

My concern is that the citizens are a bunch of “B” people. They’re so comfortable enjoying air conditioning and onion rings. What if they are willing to tolerate the CRM violence, just to have safety?

Jadis' character was my favorite on the show, so this reaction was a little hard to watch... At least you admitted that her arc was good

Her arc was good because she died. She and the CRM followers are no different than the Nazi's in the 30's a 46:09 nd 40's. Actions have consequences. Sanctioning the killing of innocents is never the answer.

I appreciate you giving my reaction a shot though we have differing views on that character. Jadis was intriguing character-wise and Pollyanna did an amazing job!

Ugh. Next week is probably going to be harsh and sad. I don’t see both of them making it out.

Didn't Michonne wear an "A" necklace for her baby who died?
@AishaWilson7 ай бұрын
She did wear an A necklace at first, but if you rewatch the episode "Say Yes" from season 7 you'll see she's wearing a M necklace there

yeah Gabe definitely cheated on Rosita

I don't know, the timeline between shows is different, and he seemed to be in a lot of emotional pain (as if something had happened to Rosita) before they kissed... I'm not sure

Damn, I think Rick gonna die y'all. This whole season was a set up for heartbreak.
