Hope you enjoyed your birthday this weekend Alanda! Hearing that you used to be a self-defense instructor was so interesting and cool, you keep your privacy as you should but I love when we hear small details about you. I saw Booksmart for the first time a few weeks ago and it was hilarious! Olivia did a great job with her debut, all of those kids nailed it in those roles. Love Kaitlyn Dever and Billie Lourd stole every scene she was in. I’m excited for Olivia’s next movie with Florence, especially since it definitely does not look like a comedy. Both in general and for Pride, I think you should totally watch Everything Everywhere All At Once! It really is such a mind-blowing film. If your looking something let’s say a bit more simple but just as fun, Father Of The Bride came out on Thursday and it was such a cute movie, and also technically falls under the Pride umbrella! And I also personally want to recommend Midnight. It’s a Korean thriller, it came out last year, and I just know you’d have a TRIP watching it.

I think this is a really well written and well made movie, but man, what really puts it over the top is the cast. I truly can't think of a movie filled with so many charming, full-of-potential young stars, from Kaitlyn Dever and Beanie Feldstein (who are legit one of my favorite movie duos this century), to Billie Lourd and Skyler Gisondo, to so many of the smaller parts, so much character and charisma.

This was basically my favourite film of 2019, saw it like 5 times. I think I have a weird relationship with it, because I sort of half grew up in the UK and half in the US, but stayed in the UK for school ultimately, and the difference between the UK and the US is never so stark as it is when it comes to high school graduation. Have you seen The Birdcage (1996)? I'll throw in random recommendations for The Birdcage and The Fisher King, feeling in a Robin Williams mood today

The two stars, Laurel Holliman and Nicole Ari Parker, both got cast in BOOGIE NIGHTS after it came out, plus you get to see a young Dale Dickey.
