Saw both Sabaton and Amaranthe when they where touring together early this year, just before full lockdown. They are really fun live, it's like a perfect mix of 90:s euro disco, power metal and growl. Elize, the female vocalist was actually once a contender for replacing Tarja in Nightwish, but in the end they went with Anette because Elize was young (about 20 or 21) and had less experience. If the idea of "Battle of the bands" are covers you can try another Amaranthe song, "Army of the Night" that was originally made by Powerwolf (no video unfortunately). It got the same amount of energy. But they have a lot of great songs of their own.

Alex, ive been both looking forward to and nervous about you finally listening to Amaranthe. Theyre honestly my favorite band and main inspiration in music. Idk if its just me but when someone listens to or reviews or just pays any attention to something that is such a huge part of my life, its exciting but a little scary haha. Im really glad you enjoyed them bc they got sooooo many great songs you have to listen to. From soft ballads, to super energetic and catchy, to meaningful. They do it all. All with fantastic harmonies between the 3 vocalists, amazing synthlines mixed with some heavy riffs, shreddy solos and just an overall feeling that everybody is enjoying it, both the fans and band themselves. I know im fanboy and all but i really do think you'd enjoy them a lot. And a few facts you should know: -They released their first album in 2011 named Amaranthe They've released 5 albums in total with the sixth on the way soon 👍 -They're from Sweden -The band name is pronounced AM-ARE-ANTHE (Im not good at these type things if anybody has a better way to say it please do) -They are a 6 piece band (3 vocalists, 1 guitarist, 1 bassist and 1 drummer - The woman singing is Elize Ryd, the Male singer is Nils (he is the new male singer since the previous' departure), the unclean vocalist is Henrick aka GG6 🤘, the guitarist is Olof, the bass player Johan, and the drummer Morten. -The previous male singer was Jake E who left after the fourth album -Both Jake and Nils have different styles for sure but both fit the band very well in my opinion -Also the previous unclean vocalist was Andy who departed after their second album. I know thats a lot of information that may not mean much at the moment but its just a brief little summary. I recommend you listen to a few songs from the first album to the current to kind of get a feel of the band. I recommend "Amaranthine" from the first album and as the next song tou react to by them. Its a really amazing song and i feel most people got into them from this song. From the second album i recommend "The Nexus" (another song that got people into the band; me included) From the third album i recommend "Drop dead cynical". From the fourth, although this may be unpopular, i recommend "Break down and cry". And from the fifth, i recommend either "Countdown" or "365". These are all just recommendations and I've seen lots of people recommend other amaranthe songs, but honestly ill be very happy if you reacted to any at all 👍 Although the one thing i really really hope you do, is to start with "Amaranthine". Anyway great reaction man ive been waiting for this for so long and if was fantastic. Looking forward to all of your future content, stay safe and keep it up 🤘 Any Amaranthe fans like this so he can see!

By the way, Alex, Elize Ryd is on record as learning the music of bands she tours with -- because of the Nightwish Debaucle (Denver, CO) in 2012. During that concert, she sang for Nightwish, and at the same time, _did not know any of Nightwish's songs, other than "Over the Hills and Far Away."_

The song is about Sgt. Alvin York who captured 223 German soldiers single highhandedly in World War I . The 82nd became the 82 Airborne in World War II and became called the "All American Division." Great Choice Betsy.

You should check their songs from the first album - like Hunger, Automatic, Leave Everything Behind, 1 000 000 Years, Call Out My Name - back when they used to play some sort of metal.

I'm glad you've finally reacted to Amaranthe. This group is amazing across the board. I'm not a huge fan of the new male vocallist, but, times change and their heart is clearly still there. You should dig into The Nexus. That song is absolutely astounding and right up your alley.
