2015 Audi MMI Infotainment Review in the 2015 Audi A3 Sedan

Instead of recycling old technology Audi decided to put their latest MMI system inside the 2015 A3. I've only had my new, 2016 A3 for 40 hours, and I am unfamiliar with the controls. I found this MMI video exceptionally useful! P.S. as a music nut, upgrading to the Bang & Olufsen was worth the price!

FYI: the iPhone does support MMS (text messages). It'll show the envelope icon and play a sound when you receive a text. You can have it read the text to you out loud, or you can read it on the screen. Not sure if that was an MMI update or an iOS update since your review, but it does now work just fine.

Your reviews are great and informative, but what you kind of gloss over is Bluetooth streaming. I personally have my music on my phone and use that as a my main media device. Things that are important to me are the ability to control my device via the car controls and being able to see what is currently playing.

Alex, Thanks for this video. Any chance of an Android supplement to this review? Some systems have additional features depending on the OS of the phone and this might be one of them.

Alex, just purchased A3 used with little info... I have the navigation button on my console however it doesn't show up on the display screen and when I press the nav button, screen says "Navigation not installed". Is there a way to install this? Is there more hardware I need? Do I need to go to the dealership to add the LTE Connection? Thanks for your help if any.

Alex, I'm curious at how this MMI system (with navigation) will function if you DON'T opt to renew your Audi Connect LTE service. Does the nav still operate without Google Maps and online functionality?

Your video is excellent. I wish to more about the sound system on my car 2014 1.4 tfsi. Certain slot on my car have no speaker. Centre speaker is missing. No cable as well. Please help to upgrade.

Alex If you were buying this car, and were unsure on the MMI, do you think it is worth the additional $2600, especially if you wouldn't use it on a daily basis (maybe a few times a month) (aside from the traffic, which would be nice to see all the time) I'm just on the fence of if I should get the Navigation, or just skip in this time around. BTW, good videos and very in-depth. Thanks!

Jacob Dunn Tesla's infotainment system is very snazzy and very goof looking but it lacks the feature functionality and overall integration that MMI and iDrive deliver.

Hi, i got audi a3 2015 sedan, 1.8 TFSI, but i got a problem with the navigation, no navigation installed, got no parking aid option as well, nor i have the small dots on the back which are the reverse parking sensors i guess. Can i fix this?

The MMI is a POS - can't global shuffle SD cards or Ipods (album only). Only has voice control for the jukebox which doesn't have artist or album shuffle and has an arbitrary 3000 track limit. Long startup times, slow uploads - if you can get it to upload at all.

ken mataya Mine does through the Bluetooth audio connect. But Audi has switched to Android Auto, which is sooooo much better than that Apple CarPlay bullshit.
