Mat Dickie is one of the sole contributors to my batsh*t insane childhood. He has made SO many games that it's still unbelievable to think he's a solo developer.
@Marksman_12 Жыл бұрын
He have pulled down immediate links to his interviews and work process but you can still find them and he lays it all out. The dude literally used to make paper games and such when he was a kid and when he was 19 or 20, bought a game development software and self taught himself to use it. Just think about it. The guy could make something completely innovative like Rubik's cube even if he is a game developer. A little more, though it is not confirmed as to my knowledge, I read that while working on WR3D, 50% of the data was deleted accidentally and Mat had to work it out. Now I'm no developer but once I tried to make a game on Scratch with the help of KZbin and it is so painstakingly difficult even with help that reading that and looking back on it, it feels like torture. Thanks for reading.

I had a bad career run in this game and jumped in front of a train. I spent a week in the hospital and a former tag partner told me to take better care of my mental health. I made a comeback for my first world title run, then put my best friend from Wrestling School over and retired to a booking career. This game is amazing. I wish more AAA games had this flexible, freeform storytelling going on instead of the more rigid choose-your-own-adventure or totally linear approaches.

Actually you can reverse moves but that's based on the stats on your wrestler and you have to press a button and move the character accordingly depending on whichever move you are trying to reverse/escape. Trust me it is really complicated compared to just pushing a single button at the right time to reverse a move but at least its there. In time you'll figure out the best ways to escape/reverse each move. Like for example your opponent is grabbing you from behind and about to German suplex you. Holding R and moving your character towards your opponent can cause them to Reverse the grapple and quickly get behind the opponent so now you're the one ready to German suplex them. Again though this is based on your wrestlers stats of his "Skill" stat is 99% it'll be much easier for him to reverse the move. If the "skill" stat is 30% well you're gonna be stuck in that position until the opponent decides to whatever they wanna do with you. The same for individual moves although that's more random. 1 quick example is you're about to get punched. Pressing the B or R button at the right time (cant remember which one exactly) will catch parry the attack. Although tbh this seems pretty random at times
@TheVincenzoGaming Жыл бұрын
7 months late but no, reversals just happen, pushing buttons doesn't help, but it feels good spamming every button, and moving the character lets your character turn that direction while doing the reversal but doesn't actually help the reversal succeed

I’m currently running Not The UFC, and during a random match between Virgil and Alberto Del Rio, I had two unexpected run ins from Connor McGregor (who just decided to be a part of the match) and Ron Simmons (who didn’t even work for me). Ron then decided to 1) randomly ask to sign for me, 2) become a second referee for this now triple threat match and 3) get injured. 20/10 best game Edit to include another dose of insanity. I booked Bobby Lashley to challenge Brock Lesnar for my world title. Bobby wins the belt via murder, somehow remains baby-face in the aftermath, then injures Kurt Angle in his first title defence.

This is the greatest wrestling game of all time hands down. I've had a brilliant experience with it on Nintendo Switch (yes a functioning wrestling game on that console, crazy times) and its so good. Theres an insane amount of fully customisable roster slots, a ton of unique weapons and furniture such as pianos, thumbtacks and ridable skateboards, a great variety of match type customisation, a huge capacity of wrestlers allowed at once which allows for huge matches and perfect royal rumble experience in a wrestling game, a ton of locations including a subway where you can throw people onto the tracks to get hit by a train Mortal Kombat style, EXPLODING BARBED WIRE and a FREE ROAMING CAREER MODE + Booker Mode. My word vomit of features in this game is just scratching the surface. It can be treated as this insane goofy game, but also has a lot of depth and can be played to have actually serious simulation style matches. Using exhibition alone I've poured hundreds of hours into having my own Wrestling Empire universe. Currently I have over 840 hours in this game and its only going to go up. Best of all? This game gets pretty frequent updates including new moves, weapons, customisation options, locations and more. There was an update just last year featuring midair collisions, allowing for the recreation of the 2023 Rumble spot with Logan and Ricochet amongst other crazy spots. The games been out for over two years now and its going to keep being supported with many more locations having been revealed including a beach, theatre, courthouse and more. Also drivable cars and motorbikes are in the works too. This game is phenomenal and ticks every box for a wrestling game, easy 10/10

This game alongside wrestling revolution are different genre of wrestling game. Empire gives ya sooo much freedom and md is gonna add MORE places to explore like courtroom where you will get trailed. Ability to play on a goddamn phone is a huge add on so you can sleep in game while sleeping irl
