This is crazy! I never knew Alex Alonso was interviewed by Ali g. He's definitely not a gangster, but a researcher of gangs. Are you watching this because it was a hit in US or because you heard about it from some other means? Many US sitcoms have canned laughter (Cheers, Friends, Big Bang Theory without thinking), some UK shows not have canned laughter (Inbetweeners). Can't say I have even noticed it until you pointed it out. A handful are (like friends) recorded in small audiences, though usually independently produced BBC.
