The only romance that has a realistic chance of going somewhere is Cloud and Tifa. Aerith's past feelings for Zack are obvious. She never got over him and she is not ready for a new relationship. Yuffie is a walking emotional disaster who sabotages whatever chance she has for romance. Yuffie did not give the last guy she was with the time of day and she did now admit that she had feelings for him until after he died saving her life from those monsters created by Professor Hojo.

uhh, aerith already moved on, it is explained in one of the cut scenes by marlene that aerith has a feeling for cloud reason is that zack is not there for her. heck even in this scene she literally said she wants to be with cloud and also when cloud asked if tifa told her she said it is "not about anything important", if all of that is not moving on is i don't know what is. the only thing that make clerith don't work is that she died.

I'll just say that this thought is ironic given that this final fantasy 7 trilogy is quite literally about things that were destined to happen being unraveled. The focus they are placing on Zack's story is pretty obvious. It's why even when it's Cloud on a Gold Saucer date with Yuffie here, the conversation is about Zack. Tifa asking if he talked to Aerith about Zack, etc. This would all have literally no payoff if there was no intent for Zack to ever make a return. But like any form of writing the audience has to feel the absence to appreciate a return.

I haven't been on youtube for two weeks to avoid spoilers. But once I briefly saw a picture with a kissing scene and I thought it was just fanart. I didn't believe it was from the game at all. Then I finally got this scene, and when he hugged her, I was like, yeah, it's the end of the ride... But then Cloud really kissed her... So it wasn't fanart, but it's actually in the game? My take away from watching this. Tifa and Cloud get a room. Aerith seems to have a little feeling for Cloud but she wants to get to the real Cloud. Yuffie both sister vibe and seems to have a little crush of her own on Cloud (Tsundere style with that whole apparent peck on the cheek and then it was just pratice while turning away like its not like that baka aura).

You can only move on, but because you never officialy broke up, that person will always mean something to you. But that doesn't mean people can't move on, there are so many people that lost their partners, young or old, aren't they aloud to move on? Of course, they are, so they do. In this date Aerith literally says that now she wants to be with Cloud. And all the stuff in the end of the game, her feelings for Cloud is also a part of her motivation. She had a whole date with Cloud out of all people as her "dream", she could have just given him the materia and pushed him from that timeline, but her final wish was to spend a day with him. Not with Zack, or anyone else. With Cloud.

She’s the one who saved him and we know they will reunite because they appear to cloud in advent children and they step out of that white light too. They are destined to travel the worlds and life stream together because the devs already said this will lead to advent. Zack is defying destiny to get back to aerith. He defied death and is fighting to save her no matter the cost to himself. Seeing him travel through worlds and fight with her ribbon wrapped around his fist is beautiful and I don’t get why people dismiss their love. People say aerith is allowed to move on, well okay so can cloud. But just watch the next one with an open mind. There’s a reason sephiroth came after Tifa and is trying to make cloud distrust her. If you played og you know this is because she’s the one who puts him back together piece by piece by going through his memories with him in the life stream. He remembers her and his love for her since he was a kid, but most important he remembers who he is and is no longer a hollow puppet pretending to be Zack.

I feel like it's obvious who cloud likes as a character. Im not trying to ruin any ships or downgrade someone's personal thoughts, but I feel the cutscenes show who cloud really likes and what he thinks. They could've easily shown cloud hug and kiss every girl, but they switched up how the date ends and i feel it shows he really feels. The determination and assertiveness he had when he told tifa she wasnt going ahead of herself, in comparison to the brother sister like dynamic he had with Yuffie, and the "I suppose" mentality he seemingly had with Aerith. They could've just left tofa woth a hug, and then had fans argue about who's better between Aerith holding his hand and Tifa getting a hug. Though with Tifa they went further and actually shown a kiss. Which if this was an anime would be basically the seal of approval that Cloud prefers Tifa. (Spoilers) Zach might very well come back based on what he says and with that said, who else would he potentially end up with besides Aerith. Tifa aint gonna be too happy with man 😂 who she really wouldn't know too much. If you like Cloud x Aerith that's fine and they're cute too, but when it comes to cloud behavior, the cutscenes, and Zach the way he's being integrated in the story now, Cloud x Tifa seems very Canon.

I never really got the obsession people had with Tifa. Aerith was always the more interesting girl, more fun, more demonstrative with her growing love for Cloud, always got cloud to step out of his comfort zone, pushed him to be better, be less surly and withdraw. I could go on. Aerith was always the better heroine and partner for Cloud, but Tifa was the one who survived in the OG.

I love Tifa, but I think Aerith works better with him because they balance each other out. Both aren’t timid, one is more outgoing and pushes the other and I think they have more natural chemistry where it doesn’t feel forced. With Tifa, I feel like she’s always having to put up with something, or has to initiate a lot of the stuff, it also gets awkward between them and the only excuse is they’ve known each other the longest. I’ve seen more chemistry between her and Seph at this point and I’d want that to happen somehow because when he was a good man he was such a gentleman. @@The3rownie I also agree with both of you. And, I feel like Aerith likes the parts of Cloud that he dislikes about himself. He always hated that he was 'weak', and 'not strong enough', and in the end his brain creates that SOLDIER persona to make himself feel better. I think that Aerith almost immediately saw that Cloud was putting on a front to hide his insecurities, just like she was hiding her loneliness with a smile. So I agree that Aerith tries to coax out that warmth and vulnerability that she knows Cloud has! I think Cloud is also confused when he finds out Aerith is unfazed by him. It's clear by the way she teases him and even slightly makes fun of him whenever he tries to act "cool". I feel like she dislikes when he tries adopting the "cold mercenary" look. She didn't want him to be strong, she just wanted him to be himself, which she makes clear on their Gold Saucer date when she says she's trying to find him. Also I agree with @Noplayster13 I never understood the worship over Tifa either lol for me she felt quite dull
