Never come across your channel till now, but just wanted to say this is a phenomenal guide, every step is here and clearly articulated too, not all use the chapter feature either when its so useful for guides like this, so I am always appreciative of when people do make use of the feature to its full effect. I have replayed this video many times for each step, going back and forth between different times in the video. So I just wanna say thank you for making this, it was very useful, bigger youtubers often brush over things, have too many quick cuts or don't explain things clearly at each step, so a guide like this is is welcome sight.

The quest itself would be fine if it werent so buggy. They turned off darkness in Normal mode; I think thats a great idea. I die to a dodge into a cyclops blast and respawn in the Transit Nexus. How do you fix one softlock (i assume they fixed it) only to introduce another one? I love this game, but damn!

Can the secrets and collectables be completed on any part of the encore mission or is it specific to a named section?

I think you can collect all of the Vex Countermand collectibles once you have unlocked the second (week 2) variant of the mission because one of them is located inside the maze puzzle. But until you unlock that puzzle, you cannot get them all. As for the vex anomalies can only be collected once you have the epilogue quest.

So I have a bit of an issue with secret chest 6 and I've been trying to figure out why to no avail. When I take the portal on the left to the beginning area, that Vex Conflux is not there for me and I cannot figure out why. It's frustrating since I have all the other Command Frames, but I'm missing Command Frame IV.

That is really annoying. Two questions: 1. Have you completed the main story quest “a rising chorus” up until step 19? 2. Someone else mentioned in another comment that they went through and completed the specimen quests they hadn’t started and that fixed it for them. I did not have to do this, but maybe that could help fix it. If you figure out what the issue was, please let me know.

Is the first chest right after the jumping puzzle still there? I've done Encore on normal difficulty, unlocked the pattern and got the quest from Banshee and there's no conflux in the room shown at 3:32. I've tried this multiple times on normal and advanced difficulty and still no conflux. Do you have to complete the mission on expert difficulty before the chests are available?

That's very weird. We completed Encore on normal and then i loaded it up on expert and the conflux spawned immediately, but I had not yet completed it on Expert so that shouldn't be a requirement. I know for a fact that it can spawn on Normal because I helped my friend do it on Normal later on. So I'm pretty confused as well why it wouldn't work for you. See if it starts spawning after completing Encore on Expert (thankfully you only have to do expert once forever) and let me know if it fixes it for you, unless you are able to find the answer somewhere else. D:

Hmmm. Have you progressed your main story quest far enough? That is required to unlock all of the puzzles. You will need to get to step 19 on “a rising chorus” in order to access the final set of puzzles. If that doesn’t work, you can try completing the NES00 quests that you haven’t completed as someone said that fixed it for them. I’m not really sure otherwise as it can get a bit confusing with the order you can do things in this mission. Let me know if you figure it out

The only other thing I’ve heard is someone said they had to complete some of those specimen quests from that season in order to gain access to the puzzles but I can’t verify since I did not have to do it myself. Alternatively you can try running encore on expert once and see if that fixes your problem, since you have to run it once for the banshee quests anyway and the completion is tracked retroactively so you don’t have to pick up the banshee quests to get progress on them.

I watched a guide on unlocking the chests so Ive got all the ones in the default mission how to you get the "special" versions like "Encore: Upheaval" do you need to beat the regular one in expert mode? I dont have anyone to play with so ive been avoiding the slog of trying to beat it solo underleveled and without a good build cause you cant really do endgame activities without a fireteam so I cant get a lot of good armor and weapons

This mission is insanely buggy. I've done the whole story but only completed the first catalyst, so I went back to figure out destabalizing and the Secret Chest 4 just entirely broke. The first room I did was the "wrong" room. I placed the access node on the slot where the white box was at, not going to that white box. For some reason, the 3 cubes still spawned, so I didnt realize I had done something wrong yet. They didnt have a white box indicating the right one, so I shot one at random, and it said it was correct. Next phase, the room with the white box is the room I went to the first time, so cubes wont spawn now. The white box is there to indicate the right cube, but there's no actual cubes alongside it. Softlocked, tried everything. Gotta reset

No you do not. As for your other comment, you could probably do all of the catalysts and intrinsic perks in one run, but you need to run it a minimum of 3 times for the main story quest anyway. And you need to do the main story quest to unlock the puzzles. So you can’t just run it once and be done sadly.

No. I was able to do week 2 immediately after week 1. But like I explained in the video, you will need to do the main story quest up until step 13 in order for the week 2 stuff to spawn. If it still doesn't work after that, I would make sure you've already completed it on expert once and have picked up the second banshee quest after completing the first one.

One possibility is that you may not have progressed far enough in the main story quest to unlock that puzzle. What step are you on when trying to do it? Because in the video I explained that you need to be step 13 to do the week 2 puzzles and step 19 to do the week 3 puzzles.

I don't have specimen 008 yet nor any catalyst. I did run the mission again and was able to complete the vex jungle construct as it shows in the video except I didn't get the 4th trait. I tried the mission on expert. How in the world is anyone able to get out of the wall of death. I die almost immediately. I'll probably need help in the team finder.

Well since the intrinsic perks do not require a run on expert, I’m guessing technically you could unlock the mags for crafting (by unlocking command frame 4) without doing it. But that’s just a guess since I haven’t tried it

Anytime you teleport into one of the secret chest puzzle areas, you can just take the same teleporter you came in through back to the nexus.

Are you saying you didn't have the vex spire in the middle of that room with all of the radiolite specimen? Make sure you have at least gotten to step 19 in the main story quest (A rising chorus) and that you have activated the vex spire at the beginning of the mission (the transit nexus.) If you've done both of those, all of the spires should spawn allowing you to activate all of the portals. If neither of those things fix it, I might need some more info to help you.

That is correct. If you don't reach that step, the next set of spires won't spawn. This is because when you reach steps 13, and 19, it unlocks new versions of the exotic missions which contain the new spires/puzzles. Let me know if you have any other issues!

What’s the issue? If the vex spires/puzzles are not available, in the video I explained you need to progress your main story quest to specific steps to be able to do them. This is because you unlock new versions of the missions containing new puzzles

So…the “open the first secret chest” was FN bullshit😤. Long story short : You need to complete Expert Encore at any point. Can go into normal and get the secret chest - however, the quest should say the 3 secret chests to get the catalyst!!! You have to get all 3, In a row, on same run!!! Even in you got the first, if you don’t get all 3 in one run you need to get ALL in a row or the next won’t be available… Such Crap!!

If you’ve progressed your main story quest enough, the only other fix I’ve heard is to compete the NES00 side quests. Someone reported they completed all the available ones they had and it fixed it for them

I have collected all of the secret chests but I only have the first catalyst. I completed the secret puzzles that should have dropped the second and third catalyst but I only got the triumphs.

In the video I explained that you need to complete the 3 banshee choir quests as that is what actually drops the catalyst.

That’s weird. What I did is run the mission on normal and then after I got the gun, I picked up the banshee quest and then did a run on expert where I did the week 1 puzzles including the transit nexus. Afterwards, I went back in on normal to do the week 2 puzzles. And then I helped my friend do the week 1 puzzles on normal on the next run. You could try doing the expert run and see if that unlocks the ability to do the puzzles on normal. But I don’t know why you’d have to do that, unless it’s just coded like that. The only other thing I could think that might fix it is just progressing your main story quest until it tells you to go back into the mission.

Yeah it’s a bit crazy how many times you have to run the mission and how many roadblocks are in the way from just being able to get everything done at once like some of the other missions. You are welcome though!

its a good guide but everything is out of order and i had to jump around to properly follow it. in short this isn't really your fault but more of a major design flaw in regards to this mission and how horrendous and criminal it is that we are essentially forced to play this thing half a dozen times for arbitrary reasons.

I completely agree with you. I considered re-ordering it but if you’re just following the main story quest, the order in the guide is exactly as you’d do it which is really dumb. It should be like star crossed where you can just load up the mission once and do everything in one go if you waited until everything is out.
