I never thought I'd walk out on an ATR show ... Sadly, the FOH guy completely ruined the show in Austin. When ATR came on it sounded like absolute mud - but I thought to myself "maybe they didn't get a good sound check and he just needs time to dial it in". Nope. Next song sounded just as bad - an indiscernible mess of bass and cymbals. The house speakers were obviously being pushed too hard and distorting, they sounded blown and there was no separation for anyone, not even Phil. Note that this wasn't an issue for the three prior bands. I sat there watching and listening for 4 songs to see if the guy was going to do ANYTIHING to improve the sound - nothing. Didn't touch a fader or adjust a knob except to boost Jason on solos. And when Jason would solo, all you could hear over the whomp-whomp-whomp of the speaker over-excursion was clicks and pops and the occasional high pitch squeal. What a fucking waste. I left as the 5th song (couldn't even tell you what it was the sound was so bad) began and sounded just as bad the rest. Worst show I've been to in a long time. I would have demanded my money back had Miss May I not been so much fun to watch. Was super stoked to see my favorite album played cover to cover ...
