This 8 videos of europe travelling is interesting. But I have few comments : For jan/journalist and producer of this programm : 1). Learn first, that Arab is different with Islam. Islam is not arab and arab is not Islam. Even arab person much dont apply the Islamic values in their community or country. It is only label. So Islamic values or culture is different with arab values or cultures. You couldnot judge Islam based on arab cultures ; 2). Dont judge person by its cover. Such woman with hijab. Many woman done that cause their consideration of being obey to their God, not pushed by family or religion, but indeed because of their willingness and own freedom to choose to protect themselves and put themselves in special way; 3). Put your feet in their shoes. Dont critize with your own glasses. If you really the true journalist, try to get their insight by phenomenology and dont directly get the conclusion easily based on your negative prejudice; 4) As reporter you may being critized, but not leading and being provocative with the question. In many videos in this europe travelling you tried to make leading question and trapped your informant or interviewed person based on your opinion and pushed them to answer the question into what you want. So this is not exploring Islam in Europe or finding the truth. This is only the way for you to make confirmation of your idea about Islam in your mind; 5) You always using the idea of class of civilization by samuel huttington. You look for banging or clashing between western values and islamic values. Unfortunately this class civilization perspective is no longer trust by many social, religious, and political schoolars in the world; 6) Try to respect other culture. You could not think that your culture (european) is better than other. Every culture have their own perspective. Such as young man relationship. There are many cultures and differences in the world. Even the Asian have differences with european. How could you compare islamic values with european values. That is not apple to apple, one is religion, the other is area or society. Even you couldnot say that european has better values than arabic or asian values. As a journalist you have to shame in making the documentary with so many subjective things; 7) Asking people on the street is only vox pop as media strategy to create content. You could not make a generalization based on their answer. Especially with only one or two informants. The validity of your statement and conclusion are questionable; 8). Every society has standard of living, culture and food. If you go to India, you forbid to eat cow, cause of the Hinduism faith. If you go to Jerussalem, many jews forbid to eat pork (it is wrote in their book). So what the problem if Muslim only eat halal food? It is not danger any one else and not against the european law. Therefore it is support by european principle, freedom of expression and faith. So, nothing wrong with being love and committ with halal food. Beside that, as the food company officer told that they could adapt to the consumer. Only adaptable industry will survive in global world. So, asking your informant by cynical is not the best way; 9) If you want to potrait more about Islam, doing some reasearch before you at the field. Learn more and lot from the source, from the Islamic source, the quran. So, that you will able for being more neutral or otherwise you only try to strengthen the negative stereotype of Islam in your news. Means no differences with other dominant media potrayed. I feel like there was a language issue here. The Saudi guy may have meant "gheerah" (for the non-Muslims, gheerah is a protective 'jealousy', but the jealousy isn't like bad envy, it's like wanting to cherish something/someone you love), but he ended up saying "jealous" which is how "gheerah" is often translated. So the host here is in the wrong, especially for outright excepting what the brother said especially when he knew the brother has English problems. Or the brother might have literally meant being jealous which is a bad emotion to have.

I have to say. In religion you can get engaged and this is the period in islam where you can spend time with the boy/girl in a family setting to get to know each other before marriage. They can take as much time necessary. If they think they don't match, the can stop the engagement. Unfortunately, in some cultures like the girl in 42:00 cultural practices sometimes are implemented instead of the true rules of Islam. So, it's not true what is mentioned here, that in Islam you can't look the boy in the eye when you're engaged and get to know each other.

In this episode, cutting an animal the halal way is made to look barbaric but when the animals blood drained it is cleaner,and healthier for consumption and an animal that is stunned has it's blood congealed,and is not able to drain out, So what makes a person think that stunning is humane as less painful. Therefore, Muslims are not allowed to honor the people of Dhimmah or elevate them above Muslims, for they are miserable, disgraced and humiliated. I am half Arab half American (my mother is an American convert to Islam of Europrean origins), I too wear hijab with face cover (except the eyes), out of faith. I chose this over 20 years ago after graduating highschool, from my own choice and conviction, and I never regretted it, I love it and would never change it for anything, to me it's out of faith and love for Allah, it makes me feel comfortable, safe and at peace, and I know that God only obligated us to cover for our own good, the same reason he obligated men to lower their gaze and also dress modestly just not as much as us since we are biologically different and the degree of affect is different. And I am not missing out on anything in life, if I want to swim I can do it in a private pool, it's more comfortable too. What I am trying to say is that most of those who cover do it out of their own choice and are happy with it. Not everyone finds the western way of life to be good or desirable.

They are projecting their own insecurity and impose their own views on freedom on women, rather than truly liberating them. That is just a different view of "true liberation". Racism is largely just an extension of that principle. We are evolved to favour those who are more closely related to us.
