Very touching words for Kate. It saddens me to hear when people are afraid to cross over , you wish you could just take that fear away and comfort them no matter who they might be. Great video and Luke I hope you realize how much you touch people's lives through your words and videos. We appreciate you more than you know.

Listen...ALL of us will have moments of fear, when the time comes to die...I look at death, as being something that all of us are supposed to experience. think of it this way...where were you before you were conceived?..We were all in that space...and we find ourselves in this current space, that we call Life. So I think we should just "go with the Cosmic Flow", so to speak, and realize that all things must pass, as the great George Harrison did sing about...Seen this way, Death itself is just another portal, that we all share--it is the great leveler of all living things, and very "natural"...just hard to visualize.

For Kate: From the top of a low mountain, the autumn treetops look like flowers, stretching as far as the eye can see in all directions. The air is calm, the weather temperate. The sky is blue above the ridges. The only thing sweeter would be if you could see it.

The night my Mother passed she expressed to me that she was scared. I told her that every life she had come into contact with had gotten better from their experience with her. She smiled and said thanks. The crazy part was it was 100% true! I challenge everyone, including myself, to be able to know the same when your time comes.

I am a little over 11 minutes in watching this video. I did not know Kate or her family and friends, but Luke that was in itself a wonderful eulogy. Many years ago I nursed my Father through his last hours, due to cancer, and held him as he passed on. Am I crying as I write this? Yes. With sorrow? Yes. With happy memories of my Dad and knowing that Kate is no further pain? YES. My thoughts to her friends and family and thank you Luke for your great and touching content. Now on with the show.

My Squads motto back in 1972 was "Peace through Strength" so I like yours very much. I've been using on my Solos the SnugPak Stratosphere with its Mini Tent for headroom which does a real good job of resolving moisture issues. When I bought mine, it was only $78.00 and now $199.95. I do have the USMC issue Bivy (new not surplus) but moisture is a problem especially when closed up. I also use a 6x8 Tarp with it for Rainy days. I've learned over the years to make sure to carry a Small Tarp or one of those Aluminized Sportsman Blankets they sure have come in handy. Those were very heart warming and touching words about Kate and you showed what kind of man you are by that so you gained a follower. I'm over 70 now and I have lost all my hiking companions over the last couple of years due to Covid and it is hard now to want to go on trips, but you give me encouragement to go. I thank you for that.. Growing up in upstate NY it was enjoyable to see all those Fall Colors again which I guess was your goal for the Trip. I was sitting on a Mountain last week wishing for those colors but here where I live now there are far to many Pines among the Hardwoods. So viewing your trip was very enjoyable. Thank you..

Respect with poignancy and a fair smattering of maudlin. Wonderfully choreographed Luke. Whodda' thunked it, eh.? When you started the channel, all those years ago, that in the future you would be atop a peak looking down on one of nature's treats, tinged with melancholy whilst paying beautiful homage to a woman who possibly at the time didn't even have cancer and who may have just found your channel.? I have been backpacking at these cliffs since the early 70's. I have so many great memories of this area. I used to technical rock climb on the cliffs. A few years ago my oldest son got married on the cliffs. I used to camp there with a friend of mine who boxed for the Air force. So boxing is something we share for memories of this site. There used to be water fairly close by, but now you have to hike a ways to get it, if you know where it is. I camped there with my best friend (the boxer) back in the early 80's and there was six inches of snow on the ground and a full moon that night. You didn't even need a flashlight it was so bright. I myself got married on the top of Hawksbill Mountain. I guess my son was keeping the tradition going. Sadly, my buddy (the boxer) was killed a few years ago in a motorcycle accident on the Blue Ridge Parkway. He was one of my best friends ever and my backpacking buddy. I still think of him often especially when I backpack or hike up to the cliffs. I like your reviews, and have purchased items you reviewed. My biggest question to you would be, why do they have to make backpacking gear so freakin expensive these days?

Geez Luke. Never mind the sketchy position 😮😮😮😮😮. But it must have been cold 🥶 overnight?? When the sun went it must have been a bit nippy. 😮 WOW. THE leaves 🍁 were spectacular it has too be said. But it must have been nippy. ❤❤❤❤

Morning dew is the reason I don’t camp much. Many times I’ve fallen a sleep to a beautiful night and then wake up freezing and soaked!

Great job, Luke! Definitely the most colorful vid ever! We obviously don't get foliage like that here in so. Arizona, so feel fortunate! And yes, blessings to Kate's survivors...
