Hello I'm having problems getting my VII to work. I Used an external PSU Corsair to supply power (I had to ground Pins) to get it to power the card. I see no picture on my monitor. Is their a number I can reach out to you to explain better or did I get something wrong or should I just get another GPU.

I think biggest thing w/ RAM is to make sure its on the motherboard QVL. Otherwise I dont think type/brand matters for hackintosh AFAIK

it's proven Radeon VII can beat even RTX Titan in some tasks, I have no idea why are people so much obsesced with Nvidia cards. Simply if you want macOS get AMD.

I've R9 3950x and Catalina 10.15.3 works perfectly instead of the GPU that is not recognized by Metal :( I think that the problem is not the OS because I tried with other GPUs like GTX 660 and 1070 ti and they works perfectly with Metal. In system infos the Radeon VII is seen and also pcie lanes and memory; but the hardware acceleration isn't available. It has also a video issue like venetian blinds transition every time I move a windows... Do you have any advise? ...I have the RadeonVII branding by Sapphire, the one you tried in past months ;)

Hi Teresa, thanks for your videos. I was considering the Radeon VII for my next hackintosh build, but I discover now that AMD stopped the production about this card. I don't feel very confident to invest in a card that may will be unsupported by apple in the future or with less support than card in production. I was thinking to go for a Vega 64 for start or even a 2x vega 64 system (that I think it could outperform the Radeon VII in Da Vinci resolve studio and maintain similar performances in Adobe softwares.) spending just 100$ more than a single Radeon VII card. What are your thought about this possibility? My primary goal is best possible performance in Da vinci Resolve and good ones in Adobe softwares. I know that Resolve Studio (the payed version) should use multiple GPUs (For Adobe should not make a big difference) . Have you ever tested something like that? I read somewhere that this card is not really a Radeon "7". Apparently, the "VII" actually stands for "Vega 2" which is the same GPU as what will be available for the new Mac Pro. Anyone else hear this or can confirm?

Sort of, the VII uses 60 calculation units, while the Vega 2 uses 64. The Vega 2 uses also 32 GB of VRAM

With the new Mac Pro offering dual GPU support, I expect Final Cut Pro and other Apple apps to take advantage of this in Catalina. At the moment, a vendor such as Blackmagic and Davinci can take advantage of this. I put in a Sapphire Nitro+ 580 alongside my Radeon VII and it gets picked up fine, but the software needs to support it too.

I tried a few dual GPU setups on hackintoshs not for performance but to drive 5 monitors. i couldn't get any combination to work, i tried 2x7850 and 2x580 and also 2 nivida gtx950.

Will the new RX5700 work the same as the VII ? I only run in Sierra and don't plan to upgrade due to app compatibility, and was going to upgrade my 780 Ti to 980 Ti, because web drivers have been working very well. Big question about this amazing GPU. I want to buy a Radeon vii but I think I'm too late. AMD has now discontinued this card, and now there are no NEW Sapphire Radeon vii's for sale anywhere, even from the AMD site. There are still other brands selling this GPU but I trust Morgonaut and her rigorous testing and endorsement of the Sapphire brand. Should I a) Just buy another brand of Radeon vii while they are still available even though you haven't tested them? The prices are already going up up up.. or b) Wait for AMD's next gen high end GPU. Do you foresee something as powerful as the Radeon vii coming soon that will eventually be a good fit for Hachintosh builds? I would love to hear your thoughts on this Radeon vii development. @@MorgonautHackintosh I love the Radeon VII card (which are harder to get now), but does it have better performance for Premiere Pro in a Hackintosh? The Radeon VII does great for Final Cut X and Davinci Resolve, but I need to make a decision soon whether to build a Hackintosh with a Radeon VII card, or Nvidia, but there are no Nvidia drivers yet for Mojave or Catalina. So I am a bit confused about what to do next. Thanks! By the way, appears Premiere Pro appears to work best on Windows machines, which I want to avoid. Hi Teresa, following your advice I bought and add a Radeon VII to my old current system (z68 and i7 2600K) and updated to Mojave. Just want to test the GPU before upgrade at your i9 9900K configuration. First of all thanks for sharing all the information with us, I am very happy with that choice. I have only one problem, I can not get the monitoring info of the GPU. I added and updated "FakeSMC_GPUSensors.kext" to the last available one but Istat Menu or the terminal tool (I saw it in your previous video) do not give me temperatures or fan speeds. Any thoughts about that? Is there anything I can do for solve it? Thanks in advance, Marco.

Amazing! I have a x299 build, and my VII is getting bad results with geekbench. Seen people getting arroud 180.000 points in opencl, I am getting little less than 150.000. Have some glitches and sometimes blackscreen on boot with a UHD monitor over dp. With lower resolution I have no problems. I have the latest lilu and weg, plus KGP's ssdt for VII. I have your EFI folder installed ( from June 15 update), but i don't have temp info from my Radeon VII. Did you update it once more after release of this video?

Oh you’re good 👏 I’m sure since the Frontier is running stabile at the moment with Premiere pro for me now (and premiere doesn’t seem to use much GPU anyway...) that I’ll be fine for a while. I’ll keep checking in on other’s experiences with the Radeon VII but it seems like it is a bit too finicky for some users still so I’ll stick with the frontier since I didn’t really have to do anything :)

About month ago AMD decided to end the life of the Radeon VII. They are not going to produce it. This probably is a business decision. The card is expensive and consumes lots of power in comparison to newly released and cheaper GPUs. It can bee soon out of stock.

Maybe it will support all the new and shiny things AMD launches now. Even their processors are great! I currently do not see any reason to pay Apple so much money for the hardware they offer. If only the MacOS and apps would run on any machine I would be super happy.
