1963 1964-=too young and too late leaving school to go to attend. I had friends whose older siblings got on to Band Stand. Then, he abandoned Philadelphia supposedly to make it easier for performers (mostly the celebrity types) to appear. Show lost its heart. Then it became a Saturday show which did not have the heart or soul of The Philadelphia Community days. It went from introducing performers who'd wanted to be on the show, flipped; it was now a show that was chasing performers - and celebrities. One tuned in to see the dances and hear the music. Berry Gordy's Motown Records Empire had so much talent that not each and every Motown act got as much publicity as the Supremes, Four Tops, Temptations, Marvin Gaye and Smokey Robinson & the Miracles. The Contours were better than some of their released records.

I was born in 1964, but I would play this song to death on my close and play record player when I was like 4 or 5. I grew up on American Bandstand

I find it interesting that they took the Philly set with them to LA. Would've thought they'd start with the next set.

Felicidades

00.30secs the boy with the exaggerated Tony Curtis twin curl hairstyle, reminded me of a boy at school who came to school with his hair styled like that. The deputy head brushed it out in front of the whole class. I wonder if that boy still has that much hair and which way does he comb it, forward - back or down both sides. Time can be very cruel
