@@bujin1977 Don't be mistaken, the lady is not to be taken for granted. There is a famous story about her: In the early days, before she was in Nightwish, she was playing with her band (I think it must have been After Forever, or Revamp) on some festival, and there was some rowdy bloke in the audience who was bothering people and shouting profanities at her, etc. (you get the picture). Until Floor had had enough, and she stopped the band, and pointed at the guy, and said: "he you there..., yes..., you... I want to talk to you after the show...". History doesn't tell what happend to the guy, but for as we know nothing was heard from him anymore...

Floor is a multitalent. She’s the most versatile singer on the planet IMHO, anything from growling metal to operatic soprano. She recently supported Metallica’s concerts in Amsterdam, along with her buddy Henk Poort. She’s taking a break now, after suffering from exhaustion. She’s pregnant and she was just taking too much on. I hope she’s ok, but I don’t think we are going to hear too much from her for a couple of months.

Floor Jansen is a 6ft tall Dutchwoman who had been with the band only ten months and was singing every song written for the previous singers and nailing it. Almost all of this crowd had never heard Floor sing with Nightwish as she took over mid tour in the USA with 48 hours to learn the setlist. They then continued their worldwide tour and had only recently retuned to Europe.

I love how much attention this song is still getting. I fell in love with it back when Tarja was the lead. I can't tell you how many times I've listened to it. Floor kills it as well. One of my all time favorite songs.

Hey BP, loving your reactions to the metal side of the musical spectrum, as well as obviously your Ren reactions and everyone else's reaction you talk into reacting with you. Another band along similar lines of Nightwish that I would recommend trying out is Sabaton. Floor Jansen's husband, Hannes Van Dahl, is the Drummer for Sabaton and they primarily write songs based upon historical events so if you're interested in History, they are a must to listen to. My recommendations (in no particular order) would be "En Livstid I Krieg (Live - The Great Tour - Gothenburg)" (English Subs are available for this one), Christmas Truce (especially awesome to get you and Joe e Sparks to react to the music video for "Christmas Truce"), "40-1 Live at Woodstock 2012", "Bismarck", and "1916" (which is a Motorhead Cover). There are plenty of other gems to listen to in addition to these but those are just ones I'd recommend trying out

For the next two weeks I only listened to this song. I was scared to watch any of their others, fearful of being disappointed. Little did I know, they had 40 more songs, all of which, after watching, you want to say, “THIS is their best song”. The craziest part of the writing process is that Tuomas, the main composer/keyboardist, hears the music in his head, it just comes to him. He doesn't know how to write music for every instrument in an orchestra though, so he has a guy that helps transcribe his ideas into legible music for the band and they program the rest into the keyboards and he just plays. The dude is an actual savant, and he works with the best singer in the world.

Here's a litle backstory about the band and the song. So you probably noticed at the start that the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen hold the shoulder of the keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen for a second like: "I got you bro, I'm with you through this. You can count on me, brother." So from 1996 - 2005 Tarja Turunen was the lead vocal singer. After a big drama she left the band on their first peak. Tuomas Holopainen was broken. In his mind, the band is some kind of a family to him. He felt betrayed and sunk into a depression. Rumors saying he even tried to end his own life. That was the time this song was written by him. So you guys might imagen, every time they play that song, it's hard for him. That's why Emppu Vuorinen came across the stage to lift his friend, showing him: "you're not alone, bro". Even if you don't know that, you can feel the emotions running while listening.

this is an experience, you lived a full journey. a complete history with a siren and a love far from her. that's why it s a score , that s why there are different vibes during all the song. A great explanation video said that the music composition for ghost love score was based in a music patern well known for bringing epicness at the end. But 4 times in the song that epicness is refused because of a minor key instead of the normal key you would get to bring the end. Hense you get frustrated each time waiting , waiting , waiting and each time it gets even more powerfull goal till that last note that relieve the public from that sweet pain. it's a master piece because it was designed like that (thuomas job) . But it's a master piece because every music player , the drum , the bass or the guitarist and the singer knows how to build that frustration growing.

Oh this was a great reaction guys! I look at this video and song in the manner of a roller coaster ride only in reverse. It starts out nice and easy, somewhere in the middle you're wondering where the big drop is, then along about the last half, it starts ramping up, then in the last few verses, it's like your there at the bottom of this huge incline slowly cranking you to the top and then over you go into that amazing belt. It has to be one of the most amazing live performances I've ever witnessed if not the most. I have always wished, no pun intended there, that these guys could do a Super Bowl halftime show. Could you imagine? People would be totally blind sided. Nightwish, who's that? Ohhhhhh, that's Nightwish.
