Abe Cunningham, the drummer, is one nasty, nasty boy. No other drummer out there with his groove and his swagger. One of a kind drummer. If you want to hear some of Chino's insane vocal lines I recommend the song Hexagram. It's the sounds you hear at the end of this song but like x10. R.I.P Chi Cheng!

Oh God PLEASE go down the Deftones rabbit hole. Chino is in my top 3 singers of all time if not number one. He and the deftones have TONS of great music that is all over the place. They have tons of hip hop influence in their sound and Chino even raps at times throughout the discography. He's done a bunch of badass features on other people's albums as well. Bro, don’t NOBODY know what Chino’s talking about… and that’s by design because of how he writes his songs. I understood every word of this song because this was my intro to them and the reason I became a Deftones head to begin with. SO glad you reacted to this one because it’s their most enduring song which is a feat being one of the biggest hits from their second album… 🤘🏽🙌🏽 And the end is his signature death-scream. Check “Hexagram” to get familiar with it (bonus fact: he sets his mic sensitivity ultra-high which is why you can hear his breath pattern). 🗣☠️🎙

My introduction to Deftones was my own summer when I was in highschool back in the 90s and I was hooked instantly. And I understood it because that's mostly what I listened to back then. Kinda like I couldn't understand fast rap for years. I listened to artist like pac and nas. But Twista and bone had me at a loss till I listened to it more then now I ran hear damn near every word off top.

theyre fans of new wave groups like depeche mode and duran duran. idk if u know them but they they each have songs like never let me down again about driving and chauffeur is another song that deftones have even covered about driving. as much as theyre a “metal” band he has wide influences from hip hop and sade to goth music and punk bands thats a big reason why i like them

I've been a fan of Deftones since the 90's and even have the title of one of their songs tattooed on my back (Dai the Flu). This was the first song I heard from them and they are next to Aerosmith for my favorite band of all time. Chino is the best at eliciting such an emotional response from listeners, and he's even better live. I always intepreted this song is about the angst about the place you feel stuck in. As a teenager growing up in a rural small town, I certainly didn't feel at home there. Now at 39, I understand it even more. Ironically, I am now married to my high school go-to guy, and he loves to drive long distances on vacations. 😂
