Hi, Nick. You can buy a day trip ticket any any MRT or bus station for $10 (US $7 ++ prob) The ticket can be used for bus and train ride. The amount will be deducted accordingly from and to your destination and you can top it up as you want.. Just keep in mind that some of the Bus Captain are foreigners so there might be some hiccups with communication🤣

For taking public bus just go to any bus interchange and buy a TransLink card. Don't pay bus ride by cash. Firstly it cost more. Secondly they don't give you back your change!!!. It can be a very very expensive bus ride. So if you put in $5 or $10 note, that's it. The Bus Captain (driver) not allowed to handle cash. By the way you can also ride the MRT with this card.

Carrot cake is actually raddish and not glutinous rice. The Chinese called raddish white carrot, and that's how the dish became carrot cake. For public transport, if you have a Visa card, it can be used on MRTs and buses. Just need to tap in and tap out and it will be cheaper for you. BTW, Singapore has one of the lowest corporate tax rate in the world at 17%, much less than USA, so it is incorrect to say we pay alot of taxes for what we enjoy in terms of good infrastructure etc.
