I’m 31 years old and discovering Don for the first time. It is 6:37am on October 10th. Whoever sees this message years from now. You’ve come to the right place. Also, please do have a look at Freddie King- Going Down which was written by Don as well. This is just my minor research in a span of an hour. Don is a legend!

I walked into a White Front Department Store in 1971 and heard Don Nix being played over the store's PA system. I was instantly hooked. I've purchased every album since! Gotta Love Don Nix!

I honestly think I've watched this 15 times in the past 12 hours. I can't get enough of don. Why is he not just as big as Leon

I remember seeing this originally on a Leon Russel PBS special when I was a kid. Never could get it out of my head. One of the great, obscure and unforgettable songs from that era. Some one recorded the whole show on cassette and released it as a bootleg. Yes, I bought it!

Damn, this is some incredible music. Don and Leon with friends are absolute true gold. These musicians know how to make some incredible down home true music. Reminds me of an old log cabin up in the hills of Tennessee or something where a whole family is just having a good time and makin' some music, sittin' and talkin', singin', eating some good food, drinking some good drink and just being friends and family. Too bad there aren't many gatherings like this in the world anymore!

72 years young. 1970, '71, '72 were the best to be able to see so many groups and performers. I had the opportunity to see Leon, Joe Cocker, Allman Brothers Band (original) Leon and Shelter People and Johnny Winter And on same night at South Carolina University,, Delany and Bonnie and friends with Eric Clapton, Black Sabbath, Hendrix at Atlanta Pop Festival, Lynard Skynard at Ocean Drive Beach, Rod Stewart and Faces at Ashville NC,.Yes I am so greatful able to hold onto these memories with all the drugs, Booze and other things

Thanks for finding this one. Most if not all the Leon Russell & Friends Soundstage tracks, with Don Preston, the great '20 Feet From Stardom' backup singer Claudia Lennear and other Shelter People, are now out in youtube. Leon, in an intro to a 1975 re-run of the show, said the group assembled at the KCET-TV Homewood studio on LA's Vine St. originally to do a commercial. It turned into the first nationally telecast stereo rock show, Leon Russell & Friends on PBS, the first Soundstage show.
