This was terrible to watch. Glen literally looked at his WATCH while the guy was talking, further more, looked miserable and kept looking at the camera with this grimace look, Like why not say here hold the mic. So simple, instead of us ALL watching u suffer, literally ruining this entire interview. I love you Glenn, im a subber from your channel. But this is flat out unacceptable to look at ur watch while interviewing. Im not unsubbing or freaking out. just saying. This was terrible.....for you....AND for him. You looked miserable the entire time

Love Mike Soldano! I finally got to meet him at NAMM, such a cool guy. I got to thank him for a quote of his I read in the 90s that I still recall today when talking to players. He was featured in a Soldano ad poster the store I worked in had on display and the quote was, "plug a $2,000 guitar into a $200 amp and plug a $200 guitar into a $2,000 amp and tell me which sounds better!" And for 1996, that was poignant as fuck. It still holds true today, but the technology of today didn't exist then, so you really were getting a $200 sounding amp when you spent $200.

Glenn, I do not know if you have seen or heard the issue of Tone-Talk but listen to the early issue with Mike Soldano. Fast forward and listen to 2:17:10 in the Tone-Talk video. This is talking about the 5150 being a copy. It seems that the Mesa Recto pre-amp was an exact copy of the SLO. They talk about the Peavey being a modded-circuit with a lot more gain. Thanks for the video!

Interesting that the fx loop is post master volume. I would have thought that would generally be a bad idea, given whenever you turn your MV up you are potentially clipping anything you have in the loop and would have to constantly adjust fx units down the line to compensate. I wonder why he decided to do that.

Man, glad he's flattered, because pretty much every second high-gain amp is a copy of his design. It's really not fair that he didn't get financially compensated, especially by companies like Mesa Boogie, who patent the most miniscule things about their amps and sabotage amp-techs by "leaking" erroneous schematics.
@Robert-Peterson4 жыл бұрын
Uhm...Mike Soldano based his amps off of the Mesa Boogie Mark II. And that was after he based his first designs off of the Fender Bassman.
