What makes me angry is that Miranda is doing stuff that she used to be critical about. They should at least make her think about it. She drop everything for a partner (like carrie with the russian) and also cheated (like steve, who she treated like crap for it). I'm not saying that cheating is okay, she was right for being angry but then do go and do it and say "oh but i'm discovering myself". F*ck her. She seems so pathetic and desperate. Worst character ever.

I hate. hate, HATE the Miranda and Che storyline. I can't watch it. Che the unfunny narcissistic comedian who inexplicably makes intelligent, somewhat cold and cutting Miranda into a simp idiot! Really destroyed the previous stuff where Steve counterbalanced Miranda and enabled her to be vulnerable. That was an actual storyline which was built up over seasons and showed character development... unlike this shxt-show

Exactly... she's turned into the exact thing that she (rightfully) accused Carrie of being when Carrie got back with Big.. a needy, obsessive, neurotic mess... and she's willing to keep going back for seconds, thirds, anything left to lick out of the bowl. I keep saying that when Che gave her baskin robbins finger vajay swirl, she dislodged her cerebellum and made Miranda... Mindless Mylanta.. as we need to down a bottle of it just to keep from gagging from the acid reflux of their storyline!

The way they've portrayed Che and Miranda this season has me thinking they're breaking up and Miranda will find herself again. Che's reaction to Brady being suicidal, the family therapy scene, and then the threesome scene... Miranda has lost herself in this relationship completely, but hopefully she'll find her way back by the end of the season

And she nods and says, "This is really happening. Really." She even tells him about Che. Then she calls Carrie and tells her it's finally over and she's off to be with Che. How is that not agreeing on a divorce or trying to figure things out? And in this most recent episode, Brady asks them what's going on--if they're separating or what? Does that sound like a kid who's been kept in the loop?

I do enjoy watching AJLT, however I do agree with the shamble of a storyline. For this episode I’m glad you mentioned how the fight between Miranda and Che didn’t carry over and they all moved on like it was nothing. The scene with the three of them in bed was a mess, I understand what they wanted to do but it lacked the substance leading up to it. As Miranda’s partner I’m sure Che can understand why a three sum would be awkward with her ex, and she literally just dropped it on her with no warning. Her initiating sex was bad enough, then it got worst when the ex rolled over and was made even worst when they both put Miranda on the spot as if this comes with the territory of the new type of relationship that’s she’s still* exploring. I enjoyed Charlotte and Harry, I think they had the best and most informative storyline of this episode. Relating to real live issues people don’t talk about and they made it such a way that it’s ok to discuss these things with your partner and work alongside them getting through it. It just takes some time getting used to Charlotte being this relaxed with sex. One time she would cringe as the thought of cum now she’s offering for Harry to release on her breasts. Which is totally fine, it’s her husband and she is supposed to be this way with him. However as a viewer we didn’t see this. It was always missionary with the sheets over them lol Love Seema, she’s perfect! And Carrie’s storyline was blah

@@johniii8147 yes there’s a clear time lapse, however the anticipation of the role plus the importance they placed on it lead us as the viewers to believe it was something to look forward to. Which Miranda ruined due to her own selfishness and she wasn’t healed accountable. So yes my dear, it was left up to us to assume they resolved it. But I believe in tv drama they should have displayed it for us as the viewers to see. P Tho Miranda had reason for wanting to keep her phone. Her expressing concern for Brady doesn’t align with her also wanting to go into the studio in the first place. And worst with the intension of interrupting the entire production (as her phone wasn’t even on vibrate) because of her* personal issue. Do you understand now? Or you also believe the world must stop for you as well? I do agree the fight wasn’t as “epic” as it should have been because she risked ruining Che’s career. I actually quite enjoyed it. People seem to have short memories about the original series. The 3way scene and Harry's issues were quite in following of what they would have done on the orginal. And Steve and Miranda have always had issues so no news there.

As a satc fan, i was 2excited when the rumbliings of a spin off started. I even tried to stay hopeful after hearing SJ(kim cattral) would't b n it. But out of the many reviews on sm, this 1 nailed it, encompassing EVERYTHING!! I'm gearing up 2 c the famous phone call, but after that...and just like that ....I CAN'T EVEN🙄 with this show. It's sad b/c it had the foundation to become a beloved/refreshing lense from which 2 view our rapidly-changing world, oh well. 🤷. Although my 1st time here, miss kasia the reviewer is absolutely on her way 2 being a communications mogul/ceo.her perfected accuracy+quality of her engaging analysis+delivery is rare+ spot-on.🏆

@lookup912 thank you for your kind words! I put a lot of effort and my entire free time into those reviews, so it makes me extra happy someone enjoys them. I think we are all pretty disappointed with the show and struggle to connect with the characters, which is disheartening considering the potential it had to offer. I'm curious about how well it will age over time.

I kind of thing that the mundanity in extravagance is exactly the hook of the show. The original show also didn't really have a tonne going on, but you were sold by the characters and clothes. They do the same thing with AJLT, just with activities of older people (actually, this is why Pat Field said she didn't want to come back, she felt the characters didn't need to be 'old' in their plots and styling). Personally, I think your really right about there being not a good thread to tie all the stories together, and the plot holes of no-one caring about Miranda being jobless, but I also think it is missing the curiosity that these women used to have back in the 90s. They're not really exploring things and dating any more, so their lives feel emptier; but why is that not the plot? Why can't we see more of Carrie writing or Miranda questioning why she doesn't work nowadays? The end of the rainbow being not filled with gold would've been a wonderful way to both have the women try new things and a great perspective that we dont get to see on TV much. Idk, Im not a writer. Im enjoying it, but youre right that it had more potential

i literally watched the first episode of the first season and was like this show is so baddd. How??? when there are such amazing actresses but then again the storylines are so quick. I totally agree on the tiktok bit because its so fast pacedI cant consume the content. i don't use tiktok so maybe that's why I hate the show and how fast it is. Also, one reason why I loved satc and thought it was such a timeless show was the cinematography, it was almost filmed like a noir, or a film. It wasn't filmed how tv shows back in those days were filmed with a live audience and laughing track. I don't know but the cinematography especially of NYC was why i loved the show so much and the cinematography on ajlt is so bad i cringe, couldn't even finish the episode.

boring and cringy plot lines are what most of our lives are like in the late American liberal life style authoritarian regime. Therefore its a brilliant show, and by far the most realistic depiction of how people "wanna" live their lives today.

As compared to what we got under Trump?? And if you think it's "authoritarian", what the hell would it be if the Religious Reich got control? They already have the Court, stripped women of their voice and reproductive rights, are targeting gays, transpeople and minorities.. they already have taken control of Florida and Texas.. so what the bloody hell are you talking about? Also, the writers of this show are so out of touch with even REALITY they might as well be from another galaxy.

The reason Charlotte went with Harry and why many wife's go with their husbands to a doctor's appointment is because the men never ask questions, never remember their medications they take or their symptoms. Obviously, this does not apply to all, but it's my experience that this is what happens a lot of the time.

The only reason I do not watch the show is because of Miranda & Cher (or Che or whatever) relationship. Not because Cher is a lesbians, but because Miranda never showed any desire for a woman. I remember in Season 1, it was 1 episode in which Miranda was introduced to a woman, and at the end of the show, she clearly said that she did not like women but men. And as an empowered woman in her 50’s, you DO NOT CHANGE YOUR SEXUAL ORIENTATION IN 24 hours! Even less you will leave your husband that you loved so much until the first season of AJLT for a woman that you met 1 day ago. It makes so upset that I prefer not to watch the show! I grew up as a woman watching SATC in my late 20s early 30’s and can’t just see my forever fav show to decline, horribly falling down, this way

So, I was only keeping my Max subscription for this show. The season is pathetic. Episode 4 put the nail in the coffee for me. The Charlotte character is a friggin caricature of the Charlotte character from SATC! Just comes across as desperate. AJLT is so disappointing that I don’t even want to watch SATC reruns anymore. Damn, the reboot is an epic fail. I cancelled my subscription. Even the Samantha and Aidan characters returning can’t save this sinking ship.
