this video is confusing because his tone for the raconteurs is actually way different than it was for the white stripes. the white stripes he was trying to make up for only being a two piece. so it was lots of noise and messy tones. the raconteurs is more refined but still vintage sounding with more expensive gear.
@CorbCorbin
@CorbCorbin 4 жыл бұрын
He just released his own video on the pedals he uses, because that Plasma Fuzz just came out with an upgrade. His Bee Fuzz is over $300. He had three pedals. It’s on his channel. Those cheap guitars he used to use aren’t so cheap anymore. He uses vintage gear to record, as well as newer tech.
@CorbCorbin
@CorbCorbin 4 жыл бұрын
jhmcwha Have you seen his video yet? He shows the three pedals he’s currently using, and plays songs from every band he’s been in.
@wheresallthezombies
@wheresallthezombies 4 жыл бұрын
CorbCorbin yeah. But thats him trying to sell some pedals. Lol. It’s all relative. At the time he was using cheap gear to get those tones. The only reason they’re expensive now is because of him. If he hadn’t come around all that stuff would stilll be cheap.

First thought I had when I saw this video was "Oh cool Jack has done so much new stuff since they last did his sound so there's so much more for room for tone finding!!" but that didn't happen a bit. Game changer Audios Plasma Pedal gets pretty close, and 3rd man records has its own signature version so that's a good shout if you're looking for that driven/distorted sound.

In light of their latest release, which is absolutely superb. Sound Like: Norma Jean, By/Without. Would love to see you guys throw down some of those nasty, muddy riffs.

Rubberhose_ I’ve requested this quite a few times. I think our Southern boys are just a bit too obscure right now for me to see them do Norma Jean.

Love comments like these! Didnt even know they were still around, Ill have to check out their new stuff ETA: Looked it up, and theyve been busy eh? For some reason I thought they broke up after Bless the Martyr(...) and havent thought about it since then. Used to listen to BtM and the older Luti-kriss stuff a ton.
