It's probably more because of their parents. Families will often watch Star Wars stuff together. In the first 5 minutes of the first episode, we see a Red Light district, and a bar that probably is serving a lot more than drinks. I could see a lot of parents deciding that they can't watch it with their 5 year old. Also, it's TV-14, so if the parental controls are on, it probably doesn't even show up.

I watched Mando and obi-wan with my 12 year old but he has no interest in this show. It's pacing, complexity and intensity is not for kids, and I have no problem with that. He can mature into it while the grownups enjoy an Emmy worthy drama set in my favorite fictional universe. This show is excellent on every level and I'm 100% here for it. The short attention span crew gets plenty of candy. If this is to deep and complex for them that's fine. They'll get on board eventually because WE decide what's cool and the world catches up. Thats how it's always been
@DarthTingleBinks
@DarthTingleBinks Жыл бұрын
Maybe. Or maybe not. I was 19 when the show came out and loved it because it was far more adult. But I also would've loved it if I was 10 or 11. I was... I don't want to say smarter than other children, but my mind was definitely more... Open. I think I would've enjoyed the complexities of the characters as a young preteen, and that I would enjoy it even more as an adult. But Cassian Andor was also a very unknown character. He was in one movie, in which he died, and he was one of the least memorable characters of the film. Especially when K-2SO stole the spotlight in the film.

So some people dug up some stats for audience interest on Andor, and it turns out that interest was very low before the show even started airing. It was the lowest audience interest show of all the Star Wars shows that have been coming out on Disney+. The problem is a number of factors from what I've read: 1, "Andor" is not a household name and it's not a good way to capture interest in a show for mainstream viewers and families if they don't even know who Andor is (even folks that might have seen Rogue One probably don't remember the character's name). 2, as audience interest was low before the show even started, it's clear that Disney did not put the money and effort into marketing this show, which I agree with considering the comparative marketing work that went into Boba Fett, Mandalorian, and Kenobi. 3, casual viewers that are just looking for something to watch don't feel that this is "Star Wars" enough for them - and by that, I mean your bog standard viewer who thinks of Star Wars and the image comes into their head of lightsabers and goofy, flashy, silly action hijinks and family-friendly fun, and this certainly doesn't tap any of those categories. It's extremely disappointing, because IMO this is the best Disney+ original show out there right now, and Disney will take the data from this show's poor performance and decide that serious, mature storylines aren't a good investment for them.

It's a steampunk drama, but many people got supernatural powers from a celestial alien craft that flew over the city, and now everyone's adapted. This is the best Star Wars content show or film ever. The storytelling, writing and acting is on another level to anything in the Star Wars cannon. It is Star Wars for adults. What is disappointing is this show has the lowest viewers of all the shows because many people have given up on Star Wars after the mediocre films and show and the hardcore Star Wars fans don’t like it because it doesn’t rely on nostalgia and is trying to do something new with Star Wars. For me after House Of Dragon it is the next best show on TV

there is a second season but I would be really surprised if it doesnt do as well as other star wars videos by then. If Andor season 1 continues this good it has to pick up traction surely. COPIUM

This show shows that even when the main character was someone no one knew or cared about before. As long as you put care and thought into the story and keep it connected, it will be an awesome Star Wars story. I blame the lack of views on Boba and Obi wan being failures. Everyone's thought was if they couldn't make awesome stories out of awesome established characters how are they can make a good story out of a B rate character? Boy am I glad I was wrong... 28:09 Fun fact: Amidala's costumes specially on Episode I (the first movie) have a purpose to be so pompous. On the other movies they downgrade on scale and color, something more suitable for senate work since Padmé is now a Senator but Naboo is an art planet, they take politics, education and all art forms extremely seriously so of course the suits are very artsy and beautiful. Other senators also poses high end clothes but the Naboo take it next lvl. NOW, the reason Queen Amidala's dresses are so bright, big and ... a lot; is, because 90% of the time, the person wearing it is not the Queen. It is a decoy. The dresses are so much of everything because it is meant to be a target to keep the real queen safe. Not only that but they are so big and ornamented because they usually hide guns, communicators or frequency disruptors on them. The dresses are highly practical by being so pompous. I love it.

hey just wanna say, i feel bad for what i say the other day and i want to apologize. i am sorry. especially to marketa and chris. i am sorry guys. if you guys want to ask the 75% that don't subscribe and watches, may i suggest to ask them as people who gave you their time, and provided you money (ads revenue), to thank them first for it, and then just tell the truth, you need the money, you want to grow, and please subscribe if they really dig it. honey instead of vinegar. i think that will go a long way, and will grow your base. and you will not have competition, since everyone else is putting their viewers down and scolding them to subscribe, some literally like preview'd that shouts at their audience and tell them to fix it. i guess in the end, in this short moment of life, who do you want to be when you die.

This show takes place 5 years Before the Battle of Yavin, if Cassian completes his 6 year sentence then he wouldn't be able to make it for Rogue One lol

I enjoyed this reaction and discussion, but I'm just perplexed how this shows' fashion spoke to Marketta so much. The fashion in this show is mostly good, but it pales in comparison to the Original and Prequel trilogies. Maybe it's just my childhood nostalgia, but nothing compares to the beige jump suit Luke wore in "The Empire Strikes Back", the leather accented and dashing looks of Anikan and his "Jedi mullet", and Count Dooku's nice "proto-imperial chic" brown top with boots and a cape(!) to match; I even like the weathered and patched together look of Obi-wan's clothes in "A New Hope". And I left out so many other looks (not to mention some of the outstanding designs in the sequel trilogy (only one outfit Rey wears looks bad)). No hate directed at Marketta, though. This is just my opinion.

Cassian's pay for the Aldhani job was two hundred thousand credits, not thirty thousand. That was just what the kyber crystal was worth, I think. And no, he's not going to do six years. It's 5 BBY, he'd overshoot Rogue One by a year.

I don't know why I enjoyed this episode so much. The ISB stuff was top notch and Mon's scenes with Luthen and at the party was great. Pieces moving around. I don't know why Cassian went back to Ferrix. Stupid move. Plus it totally destroyed my theory of Maarva, Bix and some of the other workers that help Cassian being other tribe kids. It also makes no sense for him to be looking for his sister if all the kids weren't rescued from Kenari and she just recently ran off to just have a different life from Ferrix. Syril is ready for his Imperial job. I'm guessing that Dedra will look him up now that she has the files for the Morlana sector.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. Aside from a few moments featuring droids, "Andor" feels more like a sci-fi series made in the early 21st century than Star Wars. Also, the writing STILL NEEDS TIGHTENING. By the way, Trish Biggar's costumes for Padme Amidala was high fashion in a setting that is "a long time ago and in a galaxy far, far away". The costumes worn by Mon Mothma is sci-fi high fashion that can be easily worn by the elite in our world today. That is why I find Biggar's work more artistic and original.

And I’m honestly tired of refrains that oppressed people need someone to “wake them up.” Traumatized people have a tendancy to know they’re being traumatized. They are often focused on just the struggle to survive, because that is sometimes all that a person *can* do. When traumatized people without enough hope do not act as if they could possibly make anything better, I’m not sure that adding more trauma is necessarily what’s most likely to galvanize them into action. But I don’t know; I can’t claim to know much about what works and what doesn’t. I do know I don’t like when people who have “all the answers” talk down to me- about my own problems, the things that affect me the most, and treat me like, if I’m not actively supporting their political movement, that means I’m “asleep,” and I need them to teach me to wake up and pay attention to the things that are harming me. Like I don’t know. If people being harmed are not in active rebellion, that doesn’t mean it’s because they’re “asleep.”

He can’t do 6 years. The first season is 5 years before battle of Yavin (New Hope) and this season will cover the first year. Season 2 will cover years 2, 3, 4 and 5, then you can rewatch Rogue One. This series is devided in arcs like the Clone Wars is, so he will be in prison the next 2 episodes and escape. The last 3 are the final arc of this season (or this is what I believe).

Chris; it is 5 BBY, there's no way he can do 6 years. It's amazing that a young man of color had a problem with police over-reach in Space Florida. Good thing that never happens here in our Florida. 🤔

Pretty much every story has some political dimension to it but Star Wars has always been about war, probably the most political subject there is, so any discussion about Star Wars will inevitably brush against real world society.

I am not convinced, as many reactors appear to be, that Luthen is entirely spitting truth when he speaks of risking one’s own conscience. I am skeptical that is possible for a leader to risk their own conscience in war without risking their entire cause they fight for, for two reasons. 1. People don’t always support “causes” they believe in. They often gravitate towards people they can trust. I tend to suspect that whichever side shows less cruelty, and more humanity tends to attract more support, more cooperation, and less opposition, independent of political, philosophical, or cultural alignment. Intentionally trying to make people suffer more, so that they can have more to blame on your enemy, is a cynnical move that may sometimes work, but it can also backfire in the long run. And the longer you behave this way, the more people will notice. 2. After a successful revolution, what then? The victors, especially if they are the same people leading the war effort, tend to bring with them all the things they learned during the war. If you learn cruelty, barbarism, and the notion that ordinary people must be manipulated, and that their suffering is the acceptable and unavoidable cost of acheiving your goals… that can easily carry over into the way you govern. War heroes, revolutionary heroes, people who win by any means necessary do not necessarily make fertile ground for good government. How you fight may have a big impact on what you end up with after.
