Poor parts and real poverty all over the UK now, but Anfield has to be up there with the worst of them. God knows what foreign football fans think when they are visiting Anfield, especially those from former Eastern Bloc countries, things got better for many of them, whilst things got worse for many people in many parts of the UK went to rack and ruin, oh the irony ! Still our rich continue to get richer whilst our poorer get poorer, and we're still spunking billions of taxpayers money on unnecessary wars, that end up killing poor people similar to us from other countries.

@@andyhand4880 It isn't. Liverpool has a more economically repressed vibe whereas Manchester is probably more edgy. Manchester has been getting an economic impetus from the rail links since the 90's. Skyscrapers pinging up and the Media city moving into Salford in about 2004 or something. Manchester doesn't actually have an excuse. Liverpool has had this Peel Holdings project on hold for over 20 years. Tptb inject Manchester with impetus. So, the excuses really don't line up for the depravity there.

I could write an essay on how the working class of this country have been shat on by every post war government & beyond. But i'd rather say this. I've never lived in liverpool but i have been there many times as a visitor & worked with numerous scousers & i can say hand on heart they along with the geordies are the best people i have ever met. I'm welsh but feel properly blessed that throughout my working career i just happened to end up working with a number of scouse lads & i swear from the bottom of my heart, they are the best, funniest, most straight up people i have ever met. I went to university in manchester & the mancs were always spitting venom about the scousers. But i will tell you now, from personal experience....mancs start off assuming you are an enemy until you prove otherwise. Scousers assume you are a friend until you prove otherwise. And i promise you that is from personal experience. If you are from outside the uk or even if you are a brit & you've never been to liverpool you absolutely have to put this city on your 'to do' list. God bless you liverpool, you are among the very best of us.

Liverpoo FC and their corporate skullduggery are largely responsible for the area deteriorating over time as it has by buying empty buildings and leaving them empty, this in turn decreases the value of property in the area so the 'Mighy LFC' can land grab on the cheap to extend the stadium. Prior to this fat bar steward you had another councillor, whose name escapes me at the present, who devastated the area, had a vibrant population moved out to the likes of Runcorn, the same man who had a ski slope built whose end was facing the motorway, basically, Hatton, Dereck Hatton, made some cash in getting rid of some rubble, so had this slope built, and pocketed the money for removal, and probably for the slope.

The worst part of Anfield is actually those new builds. At least the old stuff, poorly maintained as it is, has character and quality. New stuff is just ugly, completely unsuited to the area, and a testament to shady Fat Joe and his mates at Keepmoat. It wasnt redeveloped it was DE-developed.

No traffic jams & ample parking and no crowds of thousands of 3rd world people and without the constant violent attacks & shootings. This area looks sedate & where old white men like" Lee" can sit out on the street smoke and have a drink without being killed. Absolutely heaven.

If you look at anfield and county road they have been neglected for years but Liverpool FC and Everton FC have made billions and their players are well off but the people in the areas have had nothing in return.
